The service wasn't as on point as we would have liked. A lot of time spent waiting to order. So drinks and food came out too far... apart from each other. It was a busy night, so it was understandable. The food...the food was phenomenal. It was beyonddelicious. Good ambiance. The staff is friendly. There is still some construction going on, otherwise I would have rated a 5 star. The... food is professionally prepared. I rate the chef a 5 star. Very nice experience for a birthday party. This cake was absolutely delicious! It was chilled and had a coconut flavor, really... great! Dinner was brazed beef and mashed potatoes, those were both delicious as well. Comfortable chairs, good service. We?lldefinitely visit again. Read more
This was my second visit to Ambar. I wish it had been as good as my first visit this past December. We started off with the... avocado toast, which the flavor was excellent, but was soon disappointed by the poached egg which had a hard cooked yolk.Poached eggs should always be runny. The smashed breakfast potatoes were replaced with wedge cut, flavorless, hardpotatoes. Second, I had the same thing that I had upon my first visit, the steak and chilaquiles. I was disappointed to see thatthey were not what I had previously enjoyed the first time around. The steak was lacking the wood smoked flavor I had beenintroduced to. Worst of all, the freshly fried tortilla chips in the chilaquiles I loved so much, were replaced by baggedchips. My biggest pet peeve is chilaquiles where bagged chips are used. BIG disappointment. If a restaurant is going to make adish they should put all the love and quality that they can to ensure a pleasant dining experience and avoid short cuts. Excellent. Ok, it?s pricey. But they have menu options for every budget and you actually do get what you pay for! Everything we... had was BOMB. Service was friendly and prompt. I especially loved the red salsa in all its Smokey, salty deliciousness. In theend, we had heard mixed reviews about this place, but I?m glad we tried it for ourselves. We loved our meal, and we want to goback for breakfast. Read more
Lots of great food for those around me. I simply ordered a Ceasar salad with grilled chicken. Unfortunately I was told my... chicken was dropped and I was served my salad...see picture for laughs on the alleged "salad"...they finally came out 10-12minutes later with a new salad but at that point I had already eaten my "salad" minus the chicken of course. I was the last oneto receive my meal. NOW, that is just my experience. Everyone else was served delicious looking food. The 2 stars is based offMY experience. The waiter did say he would remove my salad from my tab. Based on everyone else's experience this would be agreat 4.5 star review, but this is based on my experience. Friendly atmosphere.
