Reviews for Bongiovanni's Italian Restaurant in El Cajon, CA
Best pizza I have ever eaten! Perfect crust. Right amount of sauce they do not skimp on the pepperoni. Cheese is tasty and... plenty. Good value. Excellent service, very nice atmosphere. Couldn't ask for anything more. ???? Read more
Came for a lunch on Sunday. We got a pizza and the torpedo sandwich. Both were very good. It wasn't busy at all, maybe 3 or 4... other tables were taken, and felt like we had half the restaurant to just us. The service was good too. A bit slow towards theend, even though they weren't busy, but it wasn't a problem. I'll return again or get some to go Read more
Quality of food was not the best at all, service was not great, super high prices for overcooked and greasy lasagna.
Graduation dinner. The staff was outstanding. The food was delicious with pizza, antipasto salad and the bread(to die for). ... The prices are phenomenal as well. Read more
Hostess was dressed in PJ bottoms on a Friday night. Ordered the spaghetti with meat sauce. Could only find two little pieces of... meat. It 'looked' like meat due to the abundance of onions and tomatoes in it. Waitress brought me a meatball, that wasflavorless and was bread based (I know that because I made meatballs with to much breadcrumbs, once) wouldn't recommend it. Read more
I really like the location and the restaurant was empty, but that didn't last long. The calamari strips were different, but in... a good way. The calamari was thick and flat, no tentacles (which are my favorite)... But I enjoyed it. The bread was greatalso. The Ceasar salad was well over dressed and had the obvious taste of a jar... It was satisfactory because I've had muchworse. The lasagna was good and had a nice flavor, but I wondered if I had been frozen. As for the restaurant, it is desperateneed of a renovation... The table cloths are so ugly and the artificial plants have layers of dust, which if you're at a booththey're immediately next to you. All in all, if go back, but with outside seating Read more
I just got a pepperoni and mushroom pizza and a glass of wine. I was a little disappointed with the pizza, but I'm very picky... about pizza. I felt it was too thick and the crust was not very inspired. Basically, it was an average pizza by San Diegostandards, but it was okay. However, I probably wouldn't go back for pizza, but I might return for some other menu items, manyof which looked quite appealing. Read more
I ordered the spaghetti with meat sauce To go. Apparently ?meat sauce? is very subjective. There was no meat in my sauce. Its... just marinara sauce. The bread did not come with butter so that was a dry disappointment. For $14 i expect better. So i paid $20to include garlic bread. It too is a pale facsimile of garlic bread. Just the faintest hint of oil and garlic. Way too dry. Iremember a time when the spaghetti was good with meat in it. I guess those days are gone and time to find a new favoriteItalian restaurant.
