I stopped by this restaurant recently after passing by it many times over the years. The restaurant gave me a classic Hong Kong... Cafe vibe. In terms of food, I tried several items from their Tea Time menu: Rice Roll + Preserved Egg & Pork Congee, Beef FriedHo Fan Noodles, and French Toast with hot (milk) tea. The congee was on the lighter side in terms of flavour, had less or nomsg, and was overall comforting. The rice noodles were quite good, especially with the (peanut/hoisin) sauce. The beef stir fryho fan noodles was decent as it had a nice ?wok hei \'\' to it (smoky flavour from cooking under high heat of say oil). The teawas also nice. The most noteworthy item was the French Toast though. It was crispy but not dry, fragrant, and flavourful but nottoo greasy. First time there yesterday for lunch at 1pm. We walk in, not crowded, waited 5min before someone acknowledge us. We sat and... served with 2 cup of hot water, told her our first visit and to recommend some signature dishes, we ordered pork-rib pot riceand dry beef noodle. The most basic comfort dishes. Turned out the pot rice was bland/tasteless and wet and the noodle was oilyand had some harden edge still frozen that I needed to spit out. Only half the food ordered were consumed. During bill time,server did not asked us why or how was the food after seeing so much left over, we did not even wanna take back. Perhaps, serveralready knew how great their food were.
