We had our engagement party at Smokey Bear and it was everything I could have asked for. Nico was absolutely wonderful and... super accommodating. His team was the absolute same! We had 60 people attend our event and everyone gave us compliments aboutthe food, the venue, and the service. Charcutarie was something very special to my fiance and I so I asked if that was apossibility for Smokey Bear to do (as it was not an option on the menus they sent us) and they killed it! We had the tasting menu. Unanimously, this did not meet expectations for the price. Only a few dishes were really enjoyed,... including the tacos, asparagus, and pork. Each service was delivered on shared plates, which would have been preferred assingular. The service was disorganized, some with poor etiquette. Great location, but likely won?t return Read more
Definitely a unique dining experience for Edmonton. We tried 5 dishes. The sablefish and the chicken were the standouts. Very... flavourful and highly recommended. The flat bread with nduja was enjoyable as well. I did find the fennel salad to be a bit tooacidic but my spouse enjoyed it. The heirloom tomato dish, while exceptionally tasty, was not heirloom tomatoes. Minor butwould?ve appreciated the heads up on the substation. Cocktails were great, just wish they had a couple more to pick from. Iwould recommend sitting at the kitchen counter as it would be fun to watch the chef prepare all the dishes. Honestly one of the best dining experiences I?ve have in Edmonton in a long time. Service was outstanding. Food all came out... with unique plating and ingredients that fit together. (Plums tomato?s and stracietella cheese!? Ummm YES!). We couldn?t choosea favourite as everything we had was great. For some items with the flatbread be prepared to eat with your hands, but they alsohad hand sanitizer spray at each table. Everything had a bit of a Smokey flavour but not at all overbearing and hit the spot onevery mark. The passionfruit dessert is a must! We will definitely be back! Read more
The food is unique and delicious! They have a great selection of wine to pair with food. My favorite was their pork chop and the... eggplant! Also kinda weird but I love their music playlist (Biggie, Tupac, Mobb Deep, OutKast, Rage against the machine?etc.Classic.) Read more
One of the Best restaurant in the city. Everything was superb from service to food. We tried their Flat Bread - Nduja - Soured... Cream, Smoked eggplant with nuts and berries as well as their Charcoal chicken with cream sauce. Everything was deliciousespecially the chicken. It was probably the best chicken i have ever had. Also tried their dessert and it was superb as well. Ihighly recommend Smoky bear its a must go in Edmonton. Read more
Really delicious. Definitely one of the more interesting dining experiences in Edmonton. We enjoyed *everything* we ordered but... the beef tartare was really great. The wine list is fantastic. We travel a lot and this is Vancouver/Toronto/Montreal-levelfood. Read more
