I came up from Calgary for the weekend, researched cheesesteak and this place came up. I was staying downtown so it was a bit of... a drive but it turned out being so worth it. I've been working in the area for a few days and decided to treat myself to a Philly sub and boy was I not disappointed! Full... philly sub with full flavor and those fries! So many different items on the menu. Atm I'm trying their deluxe burger and it isdelicious. Also staff are very friendly and always helped me decide on what to get. As it's my 4th time in I can honestly saytheir worth the visit. Highly recommend hitting up hot Philly for lunch or dinner. Updated update (edit): had an unusualexperience with the burger. Can't say it was food poisoning as the owner says it couldn't be... HOWEVER! I still stand by thisplace. I've met most of the staff and owner, all friendly and very helpful and the food is great (regardless of my 1 issue) Istill recommend small businesses like this one. Nothing like a classic Philadelphia Cheese Steak! Went all out and also ordered the poutine, and I gotta say it's a meal of its... own. The only thing off is the lack of paper towels for such a messy meal, but was quickly replaced by the owner when he noticedwe were asking for more. All in all a delicious eat. Read more
I hadn't eaten here in a few years as I'm from far south side. I was extremely disappointed with my food and will never go back... again. A philly cheesesteak is supposed to be saucy... what I got was steak on a bun with like a drip of sauce. The pricing isalso ridiculous. Food here is so delicious. Easily would have been a 5 star review if the staff member at the till had been somewhat cordial. She... was so rude it put me in a bad mood. The person working the grill (blonde curly hair) helped the people in line behind me andshe was very friendly. But when I?m paying almost $40 for a meal and have to be greeted with an angry face? Like I understandpeople can have bad days but could she at least try to fake a smile when talking to customers?? And then expect a tip? She needsto learn basic manners. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I really like that they are trying to do something different and I was very excited... for the food. Unfortunately I just wasn't a big fan of the sandwich. I had the classic Philly and I just found it to be lackingflavour. If go back and probably try something else because it was obvious that they've put a lot of effort into their menu.Maybe it was just an off day but the food was middle of the road for me.
