We went here last night for the first time. I got hungry at the Kalidoscope festival and wanted a meal rather than a fast food... item. I ordered a Dor Wot plate. It had chicken and a stewed type sauce. It was really good. It came with the Ethiopian bread.I've never been a fan of that type of bread as it's quite spongy with a stretchy pancake look and feel to it. And it's generallysour or fermented tasting. The one here was more palatable for my tastes. Less fermented tasting. Perhaps less traditional? I'mnot an expert on Ethiopian foods and my first ever experience was 30 years ago at an Ethiopian friend's home. At thier home, everything was served as a communal sharing meal. We sat on mats on the floor. This restaurant I think serves individual platesthat you can order as a single meal. More western style. But I'd recommend going with a small group of people and each orderinga plate to share. Would I come back? Yes. The atmosphere is nice too. Read more
Wow! Can’t recommend this place enough. The staff are so warm and welcoming, the food incredible and the atmosphere... comfortable and inviting. I recommend enjoying a coffee after your meal, you won’t be disappointed. Read more
Had high hopes due to other reviews but was less than impressed. Food was ok. Expensive for the amount of meat given (2 chicken... drumsticks for $21?). Service was not good. We had questions about the menu since we had never been before and server barelyspoke to us. She was unfriendly and extremely slow. Acted very annoyed that we were even there. Had to take napkins off anothertable since we weren’t given any. We waited probably close to 45 min for our dip appetizer that really couldn’t have takenmore than a few minutes to prepare and we were the only ones in the place. Restaurant itself was nice inside but airconditioning made it insanely cold. Wouldn’t recommend or return unfortunately. Read more
I have never ever experienced bad service any where in my life . I ordered 2 dorowots for 7pm and I came late. We drove for 23... minutes. Guess what happened? They sold my food because I was late. This is really bad service. How can you sell someone’sfood without even calling them to ask ? They didn’t even say sorry! I felt like they were not bothered about it. If any kindof business has a good client/customer service it will thrive. To be honest, I will never order or go there. I don’t recommendit at all. I recommend other Ethiopian restaurants in Edmonton. Read more
