Reviews for Earls Kitchen + Bar in Edmonton, AB
LOVE the food! Ribs are the best! Steak, fish and Prawn noodles are also good. During the pandemic, pickup was very convenient... & accommodating. However, since they re-opened and have gotten busy, we have been disappointed - arriving @ the time wespecified only to wait for 30 minutes, burned food on Easter, etc. Hopefully it will improve next time... The hostess that greeted us was very pleasant. We did not have a reservation however we did not have to wait long to be seated... (5 mins). Our server was at the table not long after we were seated. For an aperitif, we asked for a red wine recommendation(after trying a sample), or serverwas spot on. If you are looking for a big red, try the Lost Poet. We ordered the Cajun ChickenSandwich, Filet steak with all the options except truffle and the blackened salmon with fries not Jasmine rice. The sandwich andthe steak were excellent, unfortunately I found the salmon overcooked. When the server asked if we were enjoying our meal, Iindicated the salmon was overdone and she offered to replace it, I took her up on the offer and the replacement was as it shouldbe, perfectly cooked. Overall, a positive evening out. As the salmon was not cooked correctly the first time and one of theextra items for the filet was missing (peppercorn sauce), I can only give 4/5. The front end staff and servers deserve a 5. Read more
We went out for a late dinner on 25 Feb 2022. The hostess (said she was a manager) that seated us asked if we were there for... anything special to which we said we were celebrating a late (week prior) birthday. When our waitress came over, she didn'tstart off with any small talk about the purpose of our visit and went right into take our drink orders. We ordered a 'passionmule' (pic below) and a beer to start. The drinks were ok, but when ordering any kind of mule drink, the expectation is for itto be in a copper mug (literally as shown on your menu) so getting it just in a glass started things off disappointing. Wethought it was kind of odd she didn't ask about our celebrations but then assumed maybe the hostess told her already, whichactually seemed to be a really good system. When she returned, wordered the artisan bread to start, and it was not at all whatwe expected. One of the pieces of toast was essentially warm bread and the other was so over cooked and way too crispy. Theflavor was good, but again, just overall disappointed. For dinner, we each ordered the 9oz sirloin with mashed potatoes andseasonal vegetables - which ended up being asparagus. I love asparagus but my boyfriend definitely does not. In hindsight weshould have asked, but based on all the questions we were asked while ordering (add ons, how to cook the steak, etc) itsunfortunate it didn't get covered. I ordered my steak medium rare and my boyfriend ordered medium well - both arrived mediumwell to being on the verge of well done. Nearly 45 minues after we had ordered. Our waitress had come around within the firstfew bites (I had only yet had potatoes and asparagus, because I eat things in order) and at that point, everything was ok. Butshe never returned, and I sat there for a few minutes contemplating sending it back. By the time my boyfriend was alreadyfinished his meal (we traded and he ate most of the mashed potatoes and I ate the asparagus) she still hadnt returned, so Read more

Our server was very attentive to us and his entire section. He took our order and repeated it back to us which I always... appreciated. Everything came out in a timely manner. Reason for 4/5 instead of 5/5 starts is that they took out the Bellini offthe menu. Why? It?s the most popular drink based on the fact I see them on other menus a lot. They still serve other slushdrinks so I am not sure why they took it out. Also, this is the 3rd time in the last few months I visited where they didn?t haveprawns for my meal? at least the server didn?t try to charge me for the full meal without the protein like they did the last 2times. :) Spinach dip seems to have shrunk in size but expanded in price. Does not look like it in picture but the dip plate isvery shallow. Either way still yummy. Read more

I don't enjoy writing negative reviews and I normally have very positive experiences at Earl's. I have had the privilege of... being a satisfied customer of many locations throughout North America. This location was an appalling exception. I bookedreservations under my wife's name (Belle S.) for her birthday on 27 Mar 2021 for 4 adults and our 16 month old child at 7:00 pm. When we arrived there we were refused service as they refused to accommodate to have use of our highchair for our child, thereasoning was because of social distancing practices would have violated their 2m restriction. After attempts to negotiatealternatives by having us sit at another booth which was vacant in a corner, we were told that the manager would not accommodatebecause of a reservation, I guess our reservation wasn't as important? I also asked if there was another means to accommodate bypossibly moving one of their vacant inner table to be moved further away to allow for there 2m policy... but we were ignoredagain. The entire experience was frustrating and insulting. They never once attempted to accommodate and were rude to us. Wefelt unwelcome because we had a child with us. We never had this issue at other locations but now that we brought a child withus things felt very different. Needless to say, we left the restaurant and went to Joey's (which is owned by another brother ofthe Fuller family) in Sherwood Park. At Joey's we were welcomed with a highchair (coincidentally the same design as ours)already installed and waiting for us. We had a great experience and felt a lot more welcomed at this location. I don't mean toattack Earl's per se, it's concerning how poor the customer service was as reflected by their lack of accommodation from themanagement. Their actions speak louder than words as it clearly showed that they were not a family friendly establishment. Iwill not return to this location and I hope that the management would be better equipped in the future to put t Read more
Food was way overpriced. $64 for a 6oz steak and 1 medium-large sized crab cake. I ended up finding a very long hair in my food,... however they did take care of my meal. It is hard to justify making it one of my choices for dinner due to the high prices fromwhat I remembered Earls being, a "family" restaurant where you weren't spending $140 for 2 people to eat.
