Chutney restaurant was recommended by a friend so glad he did! We went back both nights and for a breakfast too . And, on next... trip here, we will return to Chutney restaurant insha Allah ! We used to order from this store using doordash frequently. This was our first dining in there. Pretty good interior. They tried... their best to mimic authentic Pakistani vibes. I believe this place has more of a Pashtun vibe. The foods are great, hugeportions with decent price. We had Goat biriyani with Sweet Lassi, Papri Chat, Goat paya with Plain rice. For some reason, thegoat biriyani was a dollar more expensive from Doordash. But their goat/lamb biriyani is I believe the best in Edmonton. TheLassi was okay. We went for breakfast. They have breakfast buffet on the weekends $20 per person....when we went. Price can change. I had high hopes as this is in vicinity to Little India and a few Indian-Pakistani grocery stores, frankly all the shops in this... block cater to east Indian thus an bustling location for any Indo Pak eatery. Good choose Chutney location per sae. Since thisjoint opened couple of months ago we thought of first trying a few Samosas which are basic snacks available at any east Indianrestaurant/dinner. IMO Samosas are best way to access how serious an establishment takes it's patrons, Samosas are easy toprepare, a volume snacks which is sold a plenty and often freshely prepared upon ordering (at least, that's what I hope) WithChutney we hoped the same. However, the Samosas were long way from being appetizing. Firstly, it was burnt, shell was soaked inoil, the oil used seemed to be used a typical unpleasant odor (read: OLD OIL used multiple time feels dark and viscous, and ishigh on BAD cholesterol) Owner's seriousness can also be judjed by the sheer amount of cigrate buds left near the entrance,entire area outside and the sitting area within was dark.... One of the best in town for Pakistani food. The food taste and presentation is definitely a 5/5. The staff should be more... welcoming and needs a bit improvement. They feel tired and fed up. Otherwise, my favourite place! Love the tikka and seekhkababs and the naans are fresh, hot and melt in your mouth. Pricing can improve a bit. Read more
