As I was driving along the I-65S this morning heading to Louisville KY, I felt like to stop and get something to eat. Since... breakfast is the most important meal of the day , I thought I might as well drive to any Cracker Barrel restaurant on myway. As everyone knows that Cracker Barrel is one of those places that knows how to draw people in! It us about the Southerncharm and warm atmosphere have people stopping all day long for the tasty famous Southern-style food. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Absolutely disgusting wait staff. My children and I waited for over an hour and... sat in the chair behind the check in station waiting for our food to be ready. Despite the numerous empty tables. I am fromGeorgia, and was traveling through with my dogs and children and the blonde and brunette that were at the check-in counter keptgoing into the kitchen to tell Marcus to put quote on quote ?pubes? in my dumplings. Haven't been to a Cracker Barrel in years, and decided to come in on a Friday evening to see if it was still any good. They... were pretty busy, but still got seated after only about 5 minutes. The wait on the food was a bit longer, but that was to beexpected on a Friday night. I like the fact that they now serve beer, though it would be nice to see more of a selection. Theyadvertise that they offer craft beers, but there wasn't a single one on the menu.....all macros. The food was just as fantasticas ever. Country fried steak, amazing! As an added bonus, this is one of the very few places around here where you can getfried okra! And talk about value.....two gut busting dinners with enough leftovers for a third meal (plus a beer!) all for $30! You can't do better than that even at a fast food joint. Terrible service at this location. My family was passing though IN and always had good experiences at Cracker Barrel locations... and like the food so we decide to make a quick stop for curbside pickup. The online ordering site did not have the menu item(pan seared cod) available and the available Friday fish fry gave us an error message so I decided to call. 3 tries and noanswer. Still decided to stop. There was 4 employees and only one other customer in the store, yet none of the girls were ableto take my to go order. Lady came in from the kitchen area to take my order but was completely unfamiliar with the menu and sideitems. She gave me 15-20 min wait time. It took 60 minutes for me to get my order. Mind you, I am not local so this wait put myfamily behind by an hour and added extra hour of night/dark drive to our evening. Also instead of pan fried cod, we receivedthe cod battered and deep fried and instead of corn muffins I received bread with the meal. My husband went in to tell themanager about our experience who ended up begrudgingly giving us a voucher for one meal but we have no Cracker Barrel?s in ourstate.
