The servers were very nice and the service was great, but we were honestly disappointed with the food. The portions were quite... generous, but nothing really had much flavor. We got a shrimp cocktail and the shrimp were room-temperature, which isdisconcerting. They should be chilled. The cocktail sauce tasted pretty much like ketchup. My wife got the crab-stuffedmushrooms, and they didn't really taste like much. I got the salmon cakes, and they were huge, so plenty to eat, but again, didn't taste like much of anything. Then we got the key lime pie for desert, and what came out was a big wedge of bright greenfoam. It was basically cool whip with fake lime flavoring and coloring. We do want to emphasize that the servers were great, and the atmosphere is nice; it's just the food was bland and a let-down, especially for the price. Read more

So so seafood. Flounder was blah and boring but the portion was huge. Would have preferred a smaller helping of a tastier... filet...cannot help but wonder if the flounder was farm raised. Not as flavorful as I've had at other restaurants. Wife had theCajun blackened shrimp with sausage and fettuccine. Shrimp were small and overcooked. Service was good but the food was sadlynot up to the hype tonight. We'll try again with some different choices. Read more

We arrived in Edenton on our 6th day in NC. It surpassed all the superlatives we had heard, and our innkeeper, tour guide, and a... local historian all separately recommended Waterman?s for dinner. So there was no doubt where we were going ! It was a Fridaynight, we had no reservations, but we arrived shortly after they opened at 4:30 and were seated right away at a great table. Theservice was great, the oysters superb. My crab cake was the best I?ve ever had, my wife enjoyed her broiled flounder immensely. The Gaelic Ale was great. I would recommend Waterman?s wholeheartedly if you?re in the area, we hope to return soon. Read more

We Heard good things about this place and we decided to give it a try. The experience was even better than expected! The... portions were massive, I ordered the Flounder with baked potato and corn pudding and it could feed 2 people. Our waitress wasfriendly and checked on us frequently. Everything tasted great and the view of Main Street and the sunset from our window tablewas icing on the cake. Highly recommend and we will be returning next time we visit Edenton Read more

This place was amazing. Incredible food for a really affordable price. I got a trough full of steamed crab, shrimp, and scallops... while my wife got a crab cake the size of a Whopper. These came after a huge casserole dish of melty, cheesy, spinach andartichoke dip with great pita triangles. All for only $60. Can't beat this place. We will definitely be back. Read more
