We had really high hopes for this place based on the reviews and the billboard advertising ?best chicken fried steak in Texas?.... We even drove in 40 minutes from north Waco to give it a try. 6:30pm on a Sunday this place was about half full. They had twowaiting staff to help us out. The girl who served us took our drink order and appetizer order. We ordered the loaded potatowedges and some sweet teas. The loaded potato wedges were actually really good. The fries were really crispy and fresh. Thebacon was good on it. The cheese was the same type of cheese you would find at those gas stations or ball parks. Our sweet teawas REALLY sweet. Even for people who love sweet tea this tea was too sweet. Unless this was a less common sweetness, advice isto get the half and half if you?re expecting traditional sweet tea. We ordered our food and I got a side salad, chicken friedchicken, and Mac n cheese. My partner ordered the chicken fried steak, Mac n cheese, and a salad. My partners mom ordered thechicken steak fingers, side salad, and the loaded mashed potatoes. The salads were really disappointing. I think having alittle cheese, maybe a few croutons, and less onions would have helped. The chicken fried steak had too much breading. It tookmany cuts to find the steak. The Mac n cheese seemed like it was velveeta Mac n cheese in the box. My chicken fried chicken wasreally good and honestly the chicken fried steak was also really good. I think the steak fingers (I had a bite honestly) werebetter than the rest of the chicken fried dishes. Our server wasn?t very attentive to our table unfortunately. We didn?t haveour drinks for awhile after we got our appetizer. We had empty drinks for the majority of our meal waiting for refills. Salad:2 out of 5 Mac n cheese: 2 out of 5 Tea: 3 out of 5 (tea flavor was good but too sweet) Chicken fried steak: 3 out of 5 Chickenfried chicken: 4 out of 5 Chicken fried steak fingers: 4 out of 5 Loaded potato wedges: 4 out of 5 Se Read more

Saw their sign off of I35 and decided to stop and give it a try. Best on the fly try ever. Our server was super friendly and... helpful. The food was scratch made and delicious, cooked perfectly. Chicken fried steak, potatoes, gravy and Mac n cheese. Then we ordered a little apple fried pie. Scratch made when ordered and delicious, oh and the size of a football. Recommendedfor sure. Nice place right off the freeway. It's a cute two story rustic restaurant with made-from-scratch food. The pizza was amazing!... Hand stretched and crispy on the edges. They have a nice pizza and calzone selection in the menu. The decor was fun and therewere big TV's all around. The prices were also great. Our party of 7 paid around $80 with dessert. We opted to share the EagleLanding dessert which consists of Banana pudding sandwiched between two house made donuts topped with a donut hole. Verydelicious! We might stop by again during another road trip down I-35. P.S. there is also a winery next door with a wine tastingroom and patio seating. Read more

Dropped in on a busy Saturday afternoon during a softball tournament, and they were packed. Staff was super friendly and prompt.... Food has a nice artisan touch, but also hardy- hand cut fries and wholemade onion rings.. Great building, check out upstairs! Read more

We stumbled upon Eagles' Landing as we traveled down I35. Located just off of the interstate in the tiny town of Eddy, it would... be easy to miss, but don't make that mistake! Our server, Kendal, was kind and attentive. Service was quick, and the food was arare find these days - delicious AND reasonably priced! We enjoyed the tender, hand battered steak fingers and chicken strips, along with fresh cut fries and veggies. I was glad that my son and I split the chicken because the dessert was to die for!! Cleverly named "The Eagle's Nest," it includes your choice of chocolate or banana pudding (or if you're like us, get a scoop ofBOTH!) sandwiched between a fried donut and topped with whipped cream and a donut hole. This is definitely a new familyfavorite. Can't wait to come back! Read more

I stopped at this place while I was traveling on I-35. The menu is typical grill menu at reasonable prices. I got the 21oz... ribeye that comes with 2 side for $21. The steak was slightly overcooked. The steak was from a ranch near by. The meat was goodquality and tasted good. I definitely will be stopping by next time I am rolling through. Read more
