Reviews for Mt. Rainier Railroad Dining Co. in Eatonville, WA
burger was great, but it was $16. I'm not sure you can dine inside the railcar anymore, they only had outside seating when i was... there in august. Service was quick enough for a busy saturday and staff was friendly. Probally would try elsewhere due to itbeing $16 for a burger alone, however i know food options are pretty limited in the small town. Read more
Shockingly bad food. The meat patties on our burgers were about 1/8" thick and gray in color. The meat was rubbery in texture... and questionably cooked. We chose not to eat this (fairly expensive) food. See picture. This place has a decent rating score,so I'm not sure why this food left their kitchen today. Maybe they will respond and explain here. Off day? Strange. Read more
I visited this place again after almost 6 years and i was amazed to see the transformation. The food was just amazing. Great... service, presentation and taste. Sweet potato fries are one of the best I?ve ever had Read more
This place must?ve fallen under new management recently or something? My in-laws brought us here after having recently visited... it a few years ago and they raved about how good it was. And I believed them. From the photos posted, it lookedamazing! However, when a business has to advertise that they have ?Great food!? on their sign out front?that usually doesn?tindicate they have great food. And that is true here. My wife got the Mt. Rainier burger and it was good, but not $16 good. Igot the elk burger and it too was okay, but definitely not worth $21 ($18 + $3 for two small strips of bacon). Oh, and theworst part is seeing all of the breakfast items in the photos on here, and then there being no breakfast menu! Read more
Lovely little place to grab an elk burger after a long hike. We got here around 5pm and it was not too busy. Serving lady was... lovely and given she was running the whole show by herself did an excellent job at running it all. Elk burger and garlic frieswere tasty. Would visit again if in the area - the atmosphere is very relaxing! Read more
Expensive for the quality of food they serve. We were excited to give this place a try as it is an old railcar and I was ok with... slow service due to short staffed and only 2 people waiting on tables even though there was not that many people in there tobegin with but we waited 45 min for mediocre food to come out and our waitress wasn?t very friendly to say the least and nevereven stopped by to ask how our food was or if we needed any refills, she just brought the check when we were about done and said?whenever you are ready? and walked away. I ordered a burger with salad and my daughter ordered the chicken strips w/fries. For$17 I would expect a nice thick burger but it was as thin as a Mc Donald?s burger with no flavor and my salad was just baggediceberg lettuce with a few pieces of spinach tossed in it and some plain croutons thrown on top served with a packet of Kraftdressing, no cucumber, tomato, carrots, nothing to even make it look more appealing. The $15 chicken strips for were nothingmore than cheap thin bagged chicken strips and the fries appear to be homemade but the flavor of them tasted like old dirty oiland they were way over cooked. $40 for 2 people for lunch at this place is definitely not worth the money. Do yourself a favorand drive a few more miles up the road as those places were all packed when we drove by on our way to Mt Rainier and back. Read more
Cool place- it has a very unique ambiance. The food is pretty average- they brought out the wrong pizza for us but it looked so... much better than the one we got! Not a huge deal as we still finished the pizza but was more here for the experience of theplace and the convenience and proximity to mt.Ranier than anything else :) Read more
Wonderful dinner, food was good. Make sure that you do have a reservation, much easier if you do. Luckily we did. Brought back... many fond memories of past family times. Even found some pretty sites along the river for an after dinner walk. Read more
