Our server Katie did an awesome job serving us. The food was just okay....everything was hot, pulled pork didn't have a lot of... flavor unless you used sauce, the hot BBQ sauce is very good and not overly hot. The bacon fried cabbage didn't have muchflavor. Not sure if I would go back here to eat or not. Maybe to try something different. Price not bad either. Read more
Deep fried (smoked chicken)? Really this ole boy don't mind paying for some good BBQ that was not the case today! The ribs were... very dry to the point of using them for a handsaw! I very politely asked my waitress would she eat them? I asked her could Iplease have some fresh off the smoker (????) She informed me that they were all messed up looking her words! So when she broughtout the substitute 1/2 a deepfried (smoked chicken) Please don't advertise fresh cooked BBQ when your serving deep-fried(smoked chicken) and ribs that taste & look like they were cooked a week ago (Sarcasm) Read more
Fried pickles were heaven in my mouth. Ask for the ribs-they aren?t on the menu! And they are totally worth it?I got the half... rack and ate it all! But the really winner was the potato salad! WONDERFUL experience! Friendly staff, clean restrooms, delicious food and lots of dining options from the dining room to the... covered porch to individual picnic tables by the lake. Definitely worth a stop and highly recommended. Update 12/01/21 Anothergreat experience- this place has a lot going for it, including an extensive menu with some different options to get your BBQfix: bbq nachos, loaded tater tots and my lunch today- big boy burrito that consisted of bbq pork, Brunswick stew, slaw andbaked beans- all neatly wrapped up in a grilled tortilla. Nice look from the outside but food leaves you lacking. No grill on site so bbq has to be oven broiled. Ribs were tough and... burnt. BBQ was ok but had a sweet sugary taste. Sauces are nothing but ketchup, vinegar and water and you have to fight flies toeat. The Brunswick Stew was ok but had that same sugary taste. Wait staff tries to be friendly but comes off more as smart Alec.They seem to cater more towards a young boater atmosphere who would be looking for drinks and fast food while listening to theband on site. Location is nice and restaurant is clean but the food was terrible. Sauce was as others described, Mac and cheese seemed like it... was stoffers out of the freezer, brisket sandwich was cold and meat looked greenish(also serving portion was very small for$13), okra would have been good if it weren?t undercooked. When we ordered our drinks we weren?t notified that there was no iceso our server brought hot sweet tea. Had I known there was no ice I would have gotten a coke or lemonade. We would notrecommend.
