A magical place to stay, hearkening back to the luxury and elegance of the art deco period. There is plenty of exquisite... woodworking and burnished metal. The rooms are kept very near to how they would have looked when they were built in the1920's. The staff is professional and extremely friendly, and the restaurant serves top-notch fare. This is an excellent placeto go for a getaway that will transport guests to a refined, romantic era. Read more

One of the best places in the Lansing area for a romantic getaway, though expect to drop a couple hundred dollars on dinner... alone. Worth it for a special occasion, though. Make sure to make the most of your trip and take a walk around the grounds! Read more

While very short on vegetables (I received only four green beans with my meal), the food was otherwise outstanding. We... celebrated our wedding anniversary with lobster- stuffed walleye and a glazed pork chop, hard cider, creme brulee, port andquite good coffee. In the past they've had live music but this evening they were playing recorded music. Dusty's is pricey, butthe service is exceptional and then there is the wonderful food! Gluten-free and vegan options are available. A lovely place tohave a special meal. If you're celebrating, tell them in order to receive a hand drawn illustration of the Inn. Read more

Dinner was well prepared and our waiter was wonderful. The grounds are beautiful and we'll maintained. It does have a very... English Inn feel to it and living up to it's name. As a lover of old homes there is some maintenance and upkeep I would love tohave seen but overall the place is clean and in good shape. Read more

My wife and I went here for our one year anniversary and had a great time! We love the atmosphere of the historical building and... the food and service were wonderful. Went for a short walk in their garden and took some photos by the grand river. Read more

I unfortunately have to admit it has taken me far too long to review The English Inn. My husband and I have been visitors to the... Inn since about 2018. Every time we do anything that is in the Lansing area this is our top choice in lodging. Every room of theInn is cozy and has its own unique charm. The dinner and breakfast are always fantastic and we make sure we eat in restaurant atleast once during our stay. At this point I believe we only have two rooms in the main house that we have not stayed at, and ourgoal is to stay in all of them. On our most recent trip we had one of our “bucket list” rooms booked, unfortunately mychronic illness decided for me that stairs were not currently an option. When I called, the staff was so friendly andaccommodating to get us switched to the handicap accessible cottage. I really appreciated that hospitality. In summary, EnglishInn is a hidden gem, that we love and will continue visit. Read more

First the good: Our waitress was excellent. I don’t recall her name but she was older, probably in her 40s. She was efficient... and quick. She was available when we needed her, but not lingering. The cocktails were very good. My wife and I hadlavender-infused old fashioneds. Delicious, if a tad over sweet. My wife had the prime rib, which was under seasoned and bland.I had the morel risotto, which was over seasoned and very salty. I typically order the filet, which has always been excellent. This time I tried something different and regretted it. Neither of us finished our meal. One of our guests ordered the grilledvegetarian plate. She did not like it and barely touched it. Another guest ordered the duck, which she said was very good. Athird guest orders the salmon and said that , too, was very good. Our last guest also had the risotto and said it was“okay.” As usual the atmosphere, service, and cocktails were delightful, but the kitchen had an off night. Read more

It pains me deep to say but unfortunately the owners of this establishment are profiting off of the illusion of opulence without... any of the quality. Their meats are pitifully seasoned and not at all worth the price attached. I had ordered the beefWellington, with high hopes, however I was quite disappointed. The only real taste from the meal was with the potatoes. The meatwas over cooked, under seasoned, and riddled with gristle. Their pastry was cooked well but also severely tasteless. Theprosciutto inside felt almost like jerky around the steak and whatever mushroom sauce they used was far too sparse. Now for thereader here, there have been multiple staff members coming forward admitting to using dropped on the floor meat, (which Ididn’t find out until after the meal). Overall a beautiful estate with severely lacking owners. Read more
