Lovely sandwiches, even though it is attached to a gas station. The sweet veal with mozzarella was superb.

The place is relatively clean, however, the person who took my money also prepared food. I doubt he has a food handling... certificate, I have one and he broke many rules. He did not wear proper clothing, he did not wash his hands, no hairnet, nogloves. My sandwich lacked any sauce and had limited meat for the price I paid. I will not be back because the wearing of nonprotective and health safety made me sick to my stomach. I ended up with diarrhea that same night, my friend did as well, theonly thing we ate was these sandwiches. Covid isn't over, if I worked there, I would be wearing a mask, gloves and followingmedical protocols. I do not recommend this location to anyone! Read more

Yes they have the cache of the original san francescos from downtown around the corner from the very famous California... Sandwiches...more about that later. Yes this has the very similar flavour profile of the original ones... an odd spice that Icannot put my finger on, probably basil. The place was barren and no phone calls or any sign of people coming in to pickup. Nice enough place to eat if you want to be beside a gas station...not sure I get that. Nice seating area outside as well withumbrellas and tables but again right beside gas pumps ... say 25 ft away. So you're gonna smell fuel while eating. Thesandwich I ordered with the Spicy Chicken Bomba which is basically a breaded chicken cutlet with Bomba spread you can get atmost stores even non Italian stores. It came with a very small amount of chicken, single layer, and a piece of thinly sliced provolone. So I guess you are getting the cheese as a bonus but that's as far as the bonus goes. It's a freshly madesangweech and the bun is typical of the sandwich shops. You are paying about $11 and essentially getting a bun with a tinypiece of cheese and chicken. Now compared to California Sandwiches (which was also a shop close by the original San Francescosin little Italy) you are getting very little in the sandwich. Usually at the regular California Sandwiches you get a few piecesof chicken and it's substantial. Here you get mostly bun. Not recommended since, although freshly made, just offers littlevalue and is about as good as the mall sandwiches I've had. I am not sure who the people are who show these multiple layers ofmeat but I certainly did not get anything like that. Frankly I would suggest California Sandwiches on York Mills since it'ssort of close by. They're about the same price but much better quality and quantity in my opinion. Read more

I like the food here. The restaurant has been around Toronto for decades with a few locations. I generally take out from a newer... location on Laird Ave The menu has changed recently, but not for the worse. The veg toppings on the warm sandwiches appear to beprepared on site. You can watch the huge pan cooking onions. Unusual for a fast food shop where the ingredients are often hiddenout of sight. The sauce is consistent. Tangy with a touch of heat/spice. Buns, not baked on site are always fresh. I have triedonly 3 of the sandwiches offered. All of them were meat offerings. All very tasty. There is a veggie eggplant sandwich. Not badlypriced. $. We were starving and we had to use the facilities real bad, and this popped up as an option nearby. The OG Veal sandwich starts... at a reasonable price at $10.50, but toppings really start adding up. And their hot chili spread for $2.99? You're kidding me.The better deal is the 'baby' size which pretty much comes with the same amount of veal, just on a smaller kaiser. The vealitself wasn't tender, but more like dark leather jerky strips covered in batter. The onions helped, but the sauce was tragicallyunder salted. On top of that (and maybe they were just having a bad Thursday), the person at the front wasn't at all kind. Notreally a people person maybe? Pass some of that salt into the sauce! Will not return. Not worth it. Read more

I love veal sandwiches. I was craving it and decided to stop here for lunch. I was disappointed in the customer service but more... so the food. It was awfully expensive too. We order a mini eggplant and regular veal sandwiche, cheese and mushrooms as atopping and 1 fanta drink and the total was almost $30. I just felt there was not enough sauce for the sandwich, it wasn'tspicy, had to ask for extra peppers and the veal was dry and just didn't seem as fresh and tasty as other veal sandwiches I'vehad. I wouldn't recommend this place if you want a yummy veal sandwich. Read more
