Reviews for Maine Fish Market Restaurant in East Windsor, CT
Had a craving for fresh seafood and Maine Fish Market was the 1st place I thought of in Northern CT. We went mid-day on a Sunday... and it was very busy. The NE Clam Chowdah was very flavorful thick & creamy. Whole belly clam were golden brown and tasty. Thisday the clams were on the smaller side, so the bellies didn't have as much briney taste as I would have liked. With freshseafood coming in daily, the next days shipment could have been different. Our server, as well as the others, were hustling towait their tables. Seems they may have been short staffed but the servers were getting it done and still made you feel welcome. Read more
Solid spot - fresh seafood even though rather far from the sound - I?m pretty impressed! Oysters - fantastic, steamers - were... real steamers and delicious, both the hot and cold lobster rolls were delicious and absolutely massive! Highly recommend! Read more
I had really high hopes for this place as everyone raves about how good they are. I would put them in the category of slightly... above frozen food. Every meal comes with 2 side options. The first is either rice, French fries or baked potato - the fries arefrozen. The second option is cole slaw, chefs choice of vegetable or pasta salad - the veggies are FROZEN!! Check out thepictures!!! In addition to the side options, you get a choice of soup or salad. Wait staff just asks soup or salad? Turns outthe soup is clam chowder. It's not bad but nothing spectacular. The salad is something from a second rate diner. The soup orsalad is served first. On top of all this they deliver bread to the table. The main courses are a myriad of seafood optionsthat are basically broiled, buttered or fried. The broiled plates we got were dry dry dry - check out the pictures and you canjust tell they are dry. The fried options were alright but honestly not much better than buying a bag frozen myself. The coconutshrimp is served with a side of Ken's sweet and sour sauce so they can't even make their own sauces. Basically this is a frozenrestaurant that serves gigantic plates of food and everyone takes leftovers home. Honestly go to your local butcher or fishmarket and buy what you want frozen and heat it in your oven say home and you'll save a ton of money and get the same quality. Read more
This place has a ramp for wheelchair. If you are trying to have a romantic dinner this is not the place to go to other customers... are standing right next to the table trying to figure out to pay for the food then after that there?s kids running back andforward around your table. The appetizers platter the only 2 things that was really good was the onion rings and jalapeñospoppers. The liquor drinks are really good. The dinner plate pricey and not everything has flavor like the steak needed flavorand they didn?t cook it the way i asked for it very disappointing the thing that saved the dish was the stuffed lobster andcoleslaw yum. Good food, good service, great value! Our entrees came with a fresh baked loaf of bread, choice of salad or cup of clam chowder,... and choice of two sides. We picked corn and baked potato. We got a whole ear of corn and a large baked potato each!! If you area dessert lover, pies and cakes are served in huge portions--almost a quarter of a cake or pie in each serving!! Read more
Best restaurant in the area! From the moment we entered until the very end, we were surrounded by wonderful, friendly and... helpful workers. Our waitress was the best! She gave suggestions on food items and how to read their menu as the menu had lotsof items to choose from. She had a fun and witty personality just like the group I was dining with. Food was great and so wasour appetizers and cocktails/drinks. Highly recommend visiting this restaurant when you are in the area. Read more
