Add to your list of Diners you must stop. Their menu was like a novel full of amazing meals. Don't forget to bring the kids,... they had a fun laminated menu with kid friendly opinions and of course you can't forgot the gigantic desert case full of cakes,cookies and more. The service was really great. Especially the older gentleman up front with the white hair - he was the sweetest. The food wasn't... that great to me. I had a chicken pesto panini and if had no flavor...at all. I was a little disappointed. I would def go backand give it another go. Read more
Great food and good service! Chicken soup (with stars?) - surprisingly good, not too salty, unlike other diners that always... seem to make super salty soups... Split Pea soup - hubby loved it, and the croutons on top Squid Ink Linguini in Clam Sauce -so good. I ate the whole plate! They gave a lot of clams Pork Chops with Apple - I thought the apple would be weird but turnedout delicious! Will be going back as I saw Chicken Pot Pie that I must try! Edit: went back with the intent to order thechicken pot pie. But we got there in time for Saturday Brunch. They were packed! No wonder because the food wasamazing! The amount of different foods on their menu is insane. It?s sad that we came around closing time and couldn?t try everything we... wanted to, but when we say the menu our eyes grew due to the amount of pages just with all the food they have. The amount offood they give is perfect. The scenery is also perfect. And the desert, perfect. They have a large variety of different types ofdessert and they all look delicious. I tried one of their cake desserts and it was extremely tasty. They make each plate of foodpresentable and clearly care about their customers. Really loved the vibe of the place, came across as a fancy diner. There was a short waiting time before we were seated. The food... portions were huge. Vegetarian options were slightly limited. The black bean patty seemed fresh and the hot chocolate was aquite a nice treat too! Read more
So I take NJ Transit bus to my new job, this bus runs down Hackensack St and passes Paterson Ave. When I arrived home, I told my... wife all about this big and gorgeously decorated (in a Christmas theme) diner called Candlewyck. So we decided to go check itout. This diner has 2 ample parking lots, the main lot is right next to the diner, & one across Paterson Ave. The front façadeis beautifully decorated with Christmas lights & ornaments, and once you step inside you will experience more Christmasdecorations and lights that'll put a wide smile on your face. Joe was our waiter. He was friendly, courteous & helpful. Weopted to get our meals from the evening's special menu. My wife got Clams over Linguini with Squid black ink sauce. She foundher Linguini a bit overcooked, but the Clams very fresh and the Squid Ink sauce tasty. I ordered the Berkshire Pork Chopscovered in sauce, Granny Smith Apple slices with Mash. My meal was spectacular! The pork Chops were a hefty portion, goldencrispy on the outside, moist & tender inside, the Apple slices gave it the perfect touch & the sauce complimented the Mash verywell. The diner used to be opened 24 hours but because of Covid they close at 11pm and open at 7am. I wish they closed a bitlater and opened earlier so that I may be able to eat later after work & get my early breakfast as well. My friend recommended me for breakfast. When my family arrived at the diner, the parking lot was almost complete. Also, the... lines are narrow, so it wasn't easy to open doors without hitting neighboring cars' doors. I understand that it locates in akind of busy place, so I didn?t mind much. When I opened the door, the first impression was good. We ordered five differentdishes as posted. It took a relatively long time. When foods came out, we loved them as they looked delicious. The hamburger wasgood. The sour mushroom removed the greasiness of fatty. The problem was my omelet. When it arrived at the table, it was alreadycold. The mozzarella already became firm. I couldn?t cut it with egg at all. I couldn?t but eat the cheeses separately fromeggs. Also, the apples in the apple crape were raw and extremely sour. My wife gave up eating it. In addition, as the last dishshowed, the waiters did not stack dishes but put them without any order. It made me see the leftover food still stuck on dishes.I wouldn't say I liked it very much. It was disgustingly unpleasant. When I came out cars entering and leaving the parking lot,we were making chaos. I will never come here in the morning. Read more
