Melanie and the team at OTR are the absolute best. Melanie has a true gift for event planning and execution, her talent shines... through in the details she is able to think about and plan for. When we last minute added a hot pretzel station for the end ofthe night, she thoughtfully had the staff put out to-go containers for each guest. She did the same for cupcakes we had fordessert, without us asking (honestly I never would have thought to even ask for this)!. When it got chilly during dinner beforedancing started, the team brought out heaters for the guests, when the shuttle bus wouldn't drive up the hill to pick everyoneup she coordinated several golf carts to drive guests down to the bus (while I stood there in a panic). The staff set up ourtable decor fantastically, they were so attentive to myself and my husband throughout the day. We had drinks waiting for usafter we walked up the aisle when the ceremony ended. We had a platter of appetizers brought directly to us during cocktailhour. They accommodated requests from family members and bridal party members that were not planned for and they were sogracious about it when they easily could have said no. Attended a wedding here in October, simply gorgeous! Perfect place for a wedding ???

We got married at OTR at Fox Hopyard on 9/10/22. It was an absolutely perfect day from start to finish! Melanie was so helpful... throughout the planning process, and very easy to reach. She is so organized, knowledgeable, and super detail oriented! We hadour rehearsal dinner the Thursday before the wedding, and she was able to coordinate with our officiant and wedding party toensure a smooth flow for our rehearsal. On our wedding day, Melanie and her staff were super attentive and available throughoutthe entire day and night (from getting ready in the bridal suite to packing up all the decor at the end of the night) to ensureeverything went smoothly. The set-up of the venue for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception was perfect, and all thedecorations were set-up beautifully. Every detail was accounted for! The food and drinks were so delicious for both therehearsal dinner and on our wedding day! We had so many compliments from our guests regarding the food and venue itself- theyloved the picturesque outdoor space and charm of the venue. My husband and I had our wedding at Fox Hopyard in June and it was amazing. Melanie goes above and beyond and she truly made... planning a wedding nowhere near as stressful as I anticipated. She not only is responsive and extremely helpful but also soprofessional. The day would not have run as smoothly and effortlessly without her. The food was amazing and the presentationwas beautiful. My son just had his wedding at On the Rocks. It was AMAZING! Melanie was so professional and spent the day making sure we loved... everything. She was quick with emails and went above and beyond all of our requests. She gave great advice and helped makedecisions. The food was fantastic, our guests are still talking about the clam chowder. Every menu item was delicious andbeautifully served. We had a gorgeous weather day and i don't think there was anything to improve. The staff was awesome, sofriendly and helpful. On The Rocks and Fox Hopyard Golf Club are, by far, my very special venues on the planet!! Where do I begin to describe this... amazing part of my town, East Haddam! James and Melanie operate an outstanding restaurant which my family dined at every week.We were thrilled when James returned as the Executive Chef as he was greatly missed, He puts his heart and soul into every dishand his menus are ever changing and varied, depending on the season and what?s available locally. And, Melanie is by far themost amazing event planner I?ve ever worked with. Our family has had many, many parties at On The Rocks and we?ve never beendisappointed. From our holiday parties, to baby showers, to birthday parties to our most recent memorial golf tournament, theclub and restaurant were flawless! With close to a hundred golfers, the course was in fantastic shape and the staff at thepro-shop were so organized and prepared for our special tournament. We love this golf course and this restaurant and encourageeveryone to come and see for yourselves the wonders of Fox Hopyard. The restaurant staff are like family. Weddings at On the Rocks are as fun as they are unique. If you're looking for something that isn't typical, this is the place.... Their cuisine is both flavorful and portioned perfectly. You'll never go away hungry. The pavillion is a great place for areception because you're out of the elements and a slight breeze is almost always present to keep your guests comfortable.There's more than ample room for a dance floor for your guests to enjoy. The Safari Club of Golf played here on September 4. It was our inaugural trip to this fantastic layout with well over... one-hundred of our members in attendance. Unfortunately, the greens had been recently punched, but we knew that going into it,and anyone with a modicum of common golf sense knows these annual maintenance issues are paramount in keeping the golf coursespristine. So no big deal there as the layout and facilities are truly SPECTACULAR. The WOW factor was in play ALL DAY and wealready have members asking if we plan on adding Fox Hopyard to our annual schdule in the future.
