Appetizers were quite good, but the entrees were okay, not great. Tips were rather bland and mashed potatoes were not warm. Wife... did enjoy the salad she had as her meal. Service was good and friendly. Read more

Good beer selection and good food. Casual place to get a reliable meal and an above average beer selection. Service has always... been good and they have an outdoor patio when the weather is nice. Read more

I've lived in Derry my entire life and the tavern is by far my favorite restaurant in town. I live for Indian Night every... Tuesday, but there is so many amazing things on their menu. You can't go wrong ordering the Southwestern Roast Beef Bulkie,Crispy Fried Chicken Sandwich (order with bacon!), Rib Eye Sandwich, the kids Mac n cheese (seriously its the real deal homemade Mac), their sweet potato fries, their flatbreads AND their chicken tenders. Plus their deserts hit too. It is the best keptsecret in town. Read more

We brought a large group over unannounced from a funeral. The bar and wait staff were outstanding. Nice selection of beer and... drinks, plenty of knowledge and recommendations from the crew. We just had snacks that were great but we saw some lunch meals goby that looked very good. Highly recommend, tons of smiles Read more

Food was very good, unique blend of typical American tavern food with some Indian cuisine mixed in. Nice atmosphere in the newly... built addition to the original East Derry General Store and Post Office building. Nice view of the Derry Robert Frost wroteabout from the restaurant seating. Lively restaurant with a great menu selection. There is no buffer between the bar andrestaurant section so be prepared to be in the action. Sam the owner and staff are wonderful, attentive and care about thedinning experience. Katrina our server was wonderful and the best, she kept the drinks refilled and brought the order fast andcorrect. I had the "Indian Chicken Salad" with a side of Indian coleslaw, while my enjoyed her Chicken Wrap and enormous onionrings along with a Valentines weekend special Maple Cinnamon Cider Cocktail. Great value, great service. Read more

I came across a hidden gem last night! I had a wonderful dinner at the East Derry tavern. For starters we got the vegetable... samosas and the ?Phil U Up Fries? which are French fries topped with homemade pulled pork, bacon, sweet caramelized onions, melted cheddar cheese and scallions. The samosas were crispy and flaky and the filling was nicely seasoned (you could reallytaste the fresh roasted cumin). The pulled pork on the fries was excellent. It had such a nice sweet/smoky/savory flavor.. itpaired beautifully with the caramelized onions. For dinner I had the Tikka Masala NAANwich which is Warm buttered NAAN breadfilled with spiced potato & vegetable spread, cool Indian vegetable slaw, tandoori roasted chicken and homemade tikka masalasauce. Such a delicious and inventive dish! (I?ve eaten many Indian entrees and I?ve never seen an Indian sandwich before.) Thenaan was thick with a nice chew, the potato spread was smooth and savory, the chicken was tender, the sauce was seasoned welland the slaw was crunchy and refreshing. Everything tasted so fresh! My husband got the Dry Rubbed Rib Eye that had a sweet &smoky brown sugar dry rub and garlic butter (it came with mashed sweet potatoes and mashed red bliss potatoes, my husband saidthey were both very tasty). The steak was incredibly tender and flavorful .. it melted in your mouth! When I was ordering thegentleman who took my order commented that I was ordering all Indian dishes and that I should have come to eat the night before.Apparently Tuesday?s are ?Indian food night? with a full Indian menu. It turns out he was actually one of the owners. He notonly brought over the Indian menu for me to see but he sent his wife (the other owner) over to see me as well! What a delightfulwoman! She told me about the spices they use, how they?re imported directly from India, how everything is cooked fresh fromscratch.. nothing frozen or from a can. She doesn?t do the cooking but the cooks use all her recipes. She Read more
