My parents are very particular about their restaurant experiences, and I would recommend this place to them! Came in for a late... breakfast. Only two servers observed on the floor. As soon as she saw me, Dana came straight over to seat me and get my drinkorder. As business picked up, both servers were hustling to take care of everyone, but I got my hot coffee and placed my orderfairly quickly. I love the ?newspaper? style menus. The table had a fully stocked condiment caddy with various jellies, sugar,sweeteners, and sauces. I noticed at least 4 kitchen staff, and it did take a bit to get my food, which. Is typical everywherewhile most places today are understaffed, but my server checked in to top off coffee and make sure I was doing okay. I didn?tcome in for fast food but a relaxing breakfast, so the speed of service was fine for me. When my food arrived, it was hot andwell presented. Dana checked back to make sure I had everything I needed. I did visit the restroom, and like the rest of what Icould see, it was clean, well lit, and stocked with no noticeable odor. Near the end of my meal, Dana brought my check, and madesure I was still doing well. She was very friendly and efficient, and we visited as she topped off my coffee. My wife, stepdaughter, her husband and I went there for dinner one evening. The food was good. I enjoyed my big burger as did... my stepdaughter and her husband. However, my wife had a problem with her order. The chicken in her chicken and waffles was abit too hard for her to eat. She ordered a barbeque ribs meal in its place. The waffle and mashed potatoes that came with thefirst meal were good. Our waitresses was nice and had no problem with the request for another order. She told us to take ourtime as it less than an hour before closing. Despite this, we all had a good time. The breakfast menu looked quite good. Weplan to go to Black Bear for that meal in the future. This is my first experience at this restaurant. The restaurant has a nice and relaxed atmosphere. The food looks good and... tastes fine. I was disappointed because I ordered a steak and was brought the equivalent of a hamburger. I also ordered a sideof bacon (4pc) and was brought 1 slice. When I said something to the waitor he proceeded to tell me the cost per slice. I hadto show him the menu to get what I originally requested. I requested scrambled eggs with American cheese, my eggs did not havecheese. I did let him know that the meal was not what I ordered, just to be sure I was not charged for a steak meal when Iactually got a burger meal. I do appreciate management coming over asking to take the plate, but I do not send my food backunder any circumstance. Had this been the meal I ordered, I definitely would have given 4 or 5 stars at least. Read more
