Reviews for SOMTUM: Thai & Lao Food in Eagle Mountain, UT
Authentic Thai and Laotian food! Delicious and freshly made.
ORDER AHEAD!!! Do not show up here expecting to eat or dine in. There?s nothing special about the food here. We?ve tried to eat... here twice when they?ve given us 40 minute wait time with no one else in the restaurant. Another time they were closed withoutwarning. Not dependable business for sure but the food is good Thai food. Read more
This is not a true sit down restaurant. Yes, they have a couple of tables so you can eat there, but they don't have a waiter or... any real bowls, plates or silverware. You can't order a cup of water, only buy bottled water. They gave us plastic takeoutsilverware and for plates/bowls? Those metal takeout containers... Which don't really work for the soup we ordered. Think of itas a take out restaurant with a place to sit. That being said the food is really good if you're just doing take out. Read more
As much as I love their menu, they have raised their prices about 30% and seemingly cut down portion size in just the last two... years. I understand the market has been crazy lately, but I don?t feel like the entrees are worth the $14 price tag. Sad to say,but I?m out. Read more
Had a great dinner here tonight. The massuman curry is great, and my husband had delicious thick spicy noodles... I can't... remember the name sorry.. It was so great! We love Thai food and it seems like most Thai restaurants often have the same items, which taste very similar, not this restaurant. It tastes like they have tweaked the recipes to perfection, and they have someitems in this menu other Thai places don't offer. I'm excited to come back again to try more. They offer carry out as well. Read more
Really good Thai food! I?ve had their dumplings (freshly cooked), egg rolls, yellow curry with chicken, chicken fried rice, and... pad Thai with beef, and I have enjoyed every single one! You can add spice to your entrees as well, which is a plus for me. Ialways go with a level 8 spice (1-10). I?ve only been able to do take out, and sometimes it?s a long wait time, but I thinkit?s usually because we get their dumplings, and it may take more time to make. The portions are pretty large, and we are ableto save half of our entrees to eat another day, which makes the price that much better. This is my wife?s favorite Thai place byfar. Read more
Once you see the portions, there?s no way this can be considered a two $$. It?s a great deal for the quantity of food you get.... You will have leftovers for another full meal. More importantly, the food is legit. It?s authentic and delicious. I wish theywere closer to where I live. Those who live in Eagle Mountain are lucky duckies. We didn?t get to try the curry yet but bothsoups, the pad thai and the fried rice were yummy. My kids ate up all the egg rolls and dumplings so I didn?t get to even trythose. Great new family run business. I recommend giving them a try if you haven?t been. Ps. I know some have said there?s along wait but we came in a party of 13, there were others in the restaurant at high noon, and the food came out quickly. Maybeit was growing pains at the beginning.
