My husband and I went to Granite City for our 4th wedding anniversary and we both walked away blessed by our experience there!... We had been there a couple months previously as part of a group date while attending a marriage retreat. Our server wasabsolutely fantastic and the food was delicious as well. Really great food, pictured is the chicken pot pie, side of mashed potatoes and a house side salad. The salad was amazing! Our... service was a bit slower than what we would have liked but it helped that we were in good company. I can't imagine sitting therethat long alone. To me Granite City is a little like an upscale Applebee's with slightly better food. Stopped in for lunch and had an Arnie ... Palmer and a pot pie. The drink was a miss. I don't get why so many restaurants can't get this simple drink right. The pot piewas a bit salty, and I like salt, but very tasty. Served in a small crock and draped with a nice flaky crust. They had brunchbeing served so I checked it out. Lots of items to choose from and the dishes looked good. Server was very attentive andfriendly. I would go here again and try the dinner menu.
