Tried for the first time, I'll definitely go back. I get a little nervous when a place won't cook burgers below medium, since... most places don't know what medium is supposed to be, but this place cooked it perfectly. One of the best burgers I've had inyears. Read more
A friend of mine and I LOVE to go to the Boot Room and the adjoining Beer Study when I come back home to Durham. The food is... always tasty and the selections of beer and cider are excellent. Unfortunately, our last visit happened to be trivia night - andit was LOUD in there - but we outlasted them and had a blast. I highly recommend The Boot Room! Read more
All the food was good. However, we ordered the fried okra, green tomatoes, fried pickles appetizer with tzatziki sauce and... ranch...only to be brought out 6 fried pickle spears for $10. When we asked about the okra and tomatoes, we were told they werejust out. Would've been nice to have known that before ordering it. I don't know if we had a bad experience or what, but the food was not good. The place got great reviews, so my whole family and... I went to check it out. Everyone's food came out cold. My sister ordered a gluten free bun, and they brought it out with aregular bun, luckily she noticed. They took it to the back and it was another 15min before they brought it back out. Then whenthey did, they brought it out with tots, not fries. Not only that, but I paid $20 for a burger and fries. I'm okay paying thatat a gourmet burger place, but not a bar. The restaurant is attached to a brewery, but the brewery doesn't do flights and theywon't let you sample the beer. Overall it definitely wasn't worth it. The food wasn't good, and the beer didn't save the day.Unfortunately, I won't be back. There are way better spots in Durham. Read more
