Reviews for The Blue Note Grill in Durham, NC
Very nice place to listen to live music. Super friendly staff and service. Had the sweet potato fries which were deliciously... good with a cinnamon butter. The tables near the bar are good for watching because they are at a higher level. Read more
This bbq spot was delicious overall. Those ribs and mac and cheese was too good. The pork bbq was tasty. I didn?t really care... for the okra. The restaurant is cool it gives old school blue vibes. The service was good and the music selection was on point. This is just a spot I stumbled across i?m glad I checked ????. Read more
Came during the afternoon just to eat and was not disappointed. Worth a trip just for the BBQ - smoky and delicious. Service was... excellent. Will be back one evening to check out the music - and for more BBQ! Read more
I really enjoyed the atmosphere at Blue Note Grill. The people were nice and the energy was high. The music was wonderful. Food... was okay, it wasn't anything to ride home about. Pro tip: don't sit too close to the stage, the sound is way too loud. Read more
Sat outside, there were 6 of us. Service was super quick and friendly. Everything on the menu looked good! I had the catfish... po-boy and give it high marks - not as good at Bullock's fried catfish plate but still heck'n good. Give this place a try. Read more
I've never eaten in the restaurant. But the bar/performance space is fantastic. Bill has an eclectic taste in live music, and... it's always good. The bar is well stocked, and well staffed, and the food they offer is fantastic. Pick a night with some goodlive music, arrive a little early, order the chips with pimento cheese dip, and the deviled eggs, and your favorite cocktail -you will thank me later. Read more
We saw a couple of blues bands here, had dinner, and danced. While the dance floor was cement, it was acceptable since there... aren't many places with live music and dancing right now. Our server, Kathy, was excellent and very friendly. The black beanburger and fried pickles with ranch were delicious. We had the buffalo cauliflower hoagie (DELICIOUS!) and The Nosh (celerystuffed with pimento cheese is a local delicacy). Our meal was rounded out with a refreshing Blue Note cocktail. Additionally,we tried a whiskey lemonade and a few local beers. There was one band we heard whose sound was unnecessarily and uncomfortablyloud, so you might want to bring earplugs just in case. THE BEST BARBEQUE IN DURHAM. Fried okra not only tastes like FRESH OKRA but like my mama?s. Seriously one of the best down home... tastes. Pulled pork (!!!!) sandwich on a deliciously toasted and appropriately soft, buttered bun (which for a lot of barbequeplaces is a missed opportunity), with slaw, as the good lord intended. Good sweet tea. Dill pickle fries DELICIOUS. A+++ Read more
