I usually get the xl pepperoni pizza and chicken strips which is a deal! I got the cheesesteak and wings. I'm slowly making my... way down the menu but it's hard when you find one thing that's amazing in itself! You never disappoint thank you???? Read more
The best pizza in Durham! Sophia's is a nice neighborhood restaurant with super friendly staff. I upgraded the lunch special to... try a slice of the East Durham (bacon, collards, serrano peppers) and La Guera (pesto, riccota, arugula, cherry peppers and pinenuts). Both were delicious and great value. Read more
Took the family here for dinner on a Saturday evening (6ish) and ordered one 18in Supreme pizza, 10count of lemon pepper wings,... potatoes and 2 individual slices of pizza for 4 ppl and spent $44! Pizza was excellent! Cheesy, but not overly and theingredients were tasty because you could tell they were fresh. One of the slices we ordered was the East Durham. It has collardgreens, cheese, bacon and serrano peppers on it. It was great! But be ready for the Heat! It kicks a nice punch if you notready! ???? Now the ranch dressing, which came with the wings is house made and it is THEE BEST RANCH I'VE EVER HAD!!!! No Lie! Make sure you get some. We ordered extra and dipped EVERYTHING in it! It was that good! Wings were great! Not over cooked/hardand they were juicy w/lots of flavor. Potatoes ???????? Now location.... It is not located in the most feel good and fuzzypart of Durham. I think the owner would make more $$ if they relocated to another part of Durham. We sat and dine-in but withour antennas up and ready to go if anything popped off. Please don't take this as a bad establishment bc it's NOT, I willabsolutely be ordering again, but carry-out. Also, it's not big inside at all so don't go with a huge party. Read more
A great new pizza joint on East Durham. This place is a perfect addition to the neighborhood. The price is much better than some... of the newer pizza spots in Durham and the food is tasty. I enjoyed the garlic cheese bread for an appetizer along with thepepperoni pizza. Looking forward to going back to try some of the other specialty pizza options and the sandwiches. Sofia's isperfect for a quick lunch stop, too, as it also has pizza by the slice. Beer options are cheap and pair nicely with a pie.Wander down the street to East Durham Bake Shop for dessert after, if you still have room! Editing to say the Carnivoro is thebest pizza in Durham. Amazing. Read more
Really, really good. Pizza is thin crust and outstanding. Love how they get it to stay firm and crisp. They have the... traditional options and also some house specialties. We tried la guerra which was amazing. The salad was the shocker though asit was so fresh and good with homemade dressing. Not what you expect at pizza place. It is counter order but they then beingto table. Friendly staff. Really nothing but good things to say outside of I suppose parking could be tough as it is mostlystreet parking. Read more
Twice in one day! I am shameless. The pie was so good; salad was the best; homemade salad dressing!! East Durham?s best pizza... joint! For this Vegetarian, the East Durham (minus bacon) dipped in the blue cheese made my mouth water! Read more
I want to like Sofia's however each time I have gone something has fallen flat. The 2 slice pizza deal during lunch is a great... value. The slices are a nice size and they were not stingy with the toppings on the specialty slices. The toppings wereflavorful however the crust and sauce are where things didn't quite make it for me. I can't describe it except to say somethingwas missing. I decided to try Sofia's again when I wanted lasagna and garlic knots. Like the lunch deal it was a great price. The portion of lasagna was good however there wasn't much flavor. The garlic knots were not cooked through, they were dry andthe cheese on top added nothing. I think they may use whole wheat flour and that could explain these misses though I regularlyuse whole wheat flour in my cooking. Every one is always friendly when I go. I'll try it again in a few months to see if theflavor is there. Read more
