Reviews for Pizzeria Toro in Durham, NC
Toro has not only the best pizzas in town, but also proudly boasts delicious cocktails in a casual open setting. The long wooden... tables in the center bring the whole place together. Service is attentive and friendly, we spilled a drink and immediately threeservers helped us clean the mess up. Read more
The fennel sausage pizza is the best pizza I?ve ever had (don?t forget the chili oil!). We also ordered the ricotta dumplings... and the combination of flavors with the squash, hazelnuts, and kale pesto was heavenly! The Spicy Salumi pizza was okay, but ithad too many onions for my personal preference. The atmosphere was great and we sat right next to the pizza oven. The only thingthat could?ve made this five stars is if the hostess wasn?t so rude. We agreed that she must have been having a bad night. Notyour typical pizza place as the prices are high, but definitely worth it! Read more
Upscale dining experience with very reasonably priced food! The Shiitake Mushroom Pizza and the Soft Egg pizza were delicious!... As for dessert, we got all 3 desserts they serve. Each one better than the other. Highly recommended as either a date place or agroup-of-6 dining experience. Read more
The wood oven baked pizza was really good. I recommend Starting with the Ricotta Dumplings and the Charred Broccolini.... The Buffalo Mozzarella is a good choice for pizza. You definitely need to leave some room for dessert. The Fried to orderZeppole (taste like a warm freshly made airy donut) and Cappuccino are perfect together. Read more
My favorite restaurant for pizza! The Meyer lemon pizza (seasonal) is amazing. Also, the spicy lamb meatball is outstanding. The... Tuscan kale salad is my go-to starter. Get a cappuccino for dessert- it comes with a rock candy lollipop! Warm and cozyatmosphere, good customer service and quality food. Always consistent. Read more
Not a bad seat in the house here! We sat in the bar today but every time I have visited we have enjoyed tremendous hospitality... alongside very well prepared food, including pizzas with a nice variety of toppings, even Meyer Lemon. Save room for dessert, you must have the Budino! Read more
Amazing! We showed up for an early dinner on a Tuesday and had a blast. We got a table right away and were lucky enough to sit... close to the pizza oven to feel the heat and smell the wonderful smells the whole time. We tried 4 different pies and they wereall perfect, the pepperoni, fennel sausage, bacon & arugula, and the special (which involved mustard greens and prosciutto, what?s not to love about that). The chili oil on top was an added bonus. Highly recommend this place!! Read more
Ok - the ricotta dumplings are out of this world good. It came with squash, onions, raisins, and nuts and the flavors all... together were phenomenal. Our waiter said they change up the dumplings often. Pizza was good. A little too thin for my liking.Crust was crunchy and good. A little on the high side price wise. And just a fyi there?s a automatic 20% service charge added toanyone?s tab (doesn?t matter the amount of people.) I didn?t mind. Our waiter was good but it was very slow at times and we hadto do a lot of waiting (it wasn?t busy.) Nice pizza spot overall in the heart of downtown Durham. Read more
