Delicious! I visit NC once a year or so and I love to eat. That being said, this place has a quality menu that is skillfully... prepared. Had the lamb burger which i was able to substitute roasted Brussels instead of fries. I sat at the bar as per usualand the bartenders were friendly and ready to talk about the food, drinks, or whatever. I highly recommend making a stop here! Read more

Really outstanding, I don't have a single negative thing to say other than I didn't feel cool or trendy enough to eat here at... times. The cocktails were fantastic (Old fashioned, and pink gin and tonic were my favorite. The traveling Broadway getsbetter as you drink it). I had the bone in pork chop special with orange maple glaze, potatoes, and asparagus. Wonderful. Myson had an excellent Caesar salad. The tater tots appetizer and corn bread were A+. Also the peach bread pudding dessert wasquite good. I would go again. Read more

We were in Durham this past weekend and went to Local 22 Friday night. The food was amazing and the service was great. Our only... complaint was the music was too loud, but that is just a personal preference and it did not ruin our experience. If we are inDurham again, we will most definitely eat here again! Great find in Durham around Duke University. By far, the best Bloody Mary I've ever had. Everything was fresh and made that... day-- including the tomato base. Awesome ???? We ordered a charcuterie with smoked trout dip and it came with fresh bread, andaccouterments, all of which were delicious. We split a beet salad topped with shrimp that was more than enough for two. Highlyrecommend! Read more

Got to Durham late on a Friday, celebrating a birthday. Was looking for a spot I could reserve that got good reviews. Came... across this place. Arrived and was immediately seated, glad we reserved. Waiter was very attentive and food came out quick. Hadan extensive drink selection and tried a couple of there specials. Definitely made with fresh ingredients. Was very happy withthe meal which was kind of a sampler, Mahi bites, class with bread and the lamb burger. Couldn't decide what was better. Lookingforward to trying additional items next trip. Oh and we got a free slice of cake for the birthday. Read more

Steamed Mussels with a White Wine-Butter Garlic Sauce with Tomato & Crostini was good. The mussels were cooked just right. I... will like to have more white wine added to give it a bit of zing. The sour dough crostini were charred; the pieces thatweren’t charred paired well with the white wine and tomatoes broth. Seared wahoo over Crispy Chili Garlic Potatoes, toppedwith Capers, Marinated Tomatoes, & Crab Béchamel were delicious, highly recommend this dish. Wahoo was perfectly seasoned andseared. The crab bechamel was savory with umami. The capers added a nice contrast and kick. Pura vida Lamb cheeseburger withmixed green. I love the Smoked Gouda, Cucumber, Tomato, Kalamata Olives, Arugula, Harissa, and Tzatziki; all the ingredientscomplimented each other and made the cheeseburger not so heavy to eat. I also like the vinaigrette on the mixed green. Orangealmond cake was yummy in flavor, the sweet of the cake and the cream, the orange glaze was wonderful. I wasn’t a fan of thetexture of the almond pieces. I prefer the whole thing to be cake like texture. Overall, great food and great service. Idefinitely recommend this place. Read more

We wanted dinner with friends at a great local Durham eatery and Local 22 was perfect. The restaurant was full but not so packed... you couldn’t move. Definitely make reservations. The ambiance was cozy and inviting. Our server was great at suggesting one oftheir strong signature cocktails to answering questions about the entrees. The ingredients for the dishes were locally sourced. The food came quickly and each dish was utterly amazing. The food was good. The company was good. Everything was wonderful. Makesure to give Local 22 a try because you’ll not only get great food but you’ll be supporting local. Read more

A near perfect dining experience. We got a quiet table on the sidewalk under beautiful, tall, old trees, and felt we had the... place to ourselves despite it being relatively busy. Never would have known we were nestled in an office park. I'd call the menu"Southern fusion" with wonderfully creative takes on classic dishes. We got the special small plate, braised pork cheeks withgochujang eggplant and marinated mushrooms--I love being delighted by a surprising dish with perfectly balanced flavors--that Ihope makes it to their regular menu. The grilled brussel sprouts were tender with fantastic, flaky, charred exterior. Theyweren't drowned in sauce and the light red chili aoli gave the right amount of subtle accent without masking the flavor of thevegetable. I love lamb, and waffled between ordering the burger and the pizza, but went with the pizza because it's easier toshare. We were not disappointed. We got three of their signature cocktails. I got two whiskey based drinks and my daughter gotthe vodka berry, and I'm pleased to report that the bartender is every bit the artist as the chef. We rounded out the meal withthe "pot de crème", an intense chocolate mousse that have us just the right amount of sweetness. We left feeling pleasantlyfull without being stuffed. Highly recommended!
