The catfish was excellent, ate it straight without any sauce it was so good. BBQ was on par with other good places and the... greens were top notch. The only reason for reducing 1 star is the total overwhelming waste of packaging. Everything comes instyrofoam containers put in a plastic bag and then in a paper bag. It was awful how much of a waste it was to eat there. Iordered the side of catfish and it came in its own over the top packaging and even a second set of plastic utensils which I didnot need. I would happily pay extra if they used real plates and metal silverware and real glasses. To be honest, I will notcome back here for this reason. Please consider moving away from all the over packaging.. at least for those who choose to eatthere. Read more
The food was awesome here! I got the biggest family meal deal and two different deserts. The BBQ was the best BBQ around, the... Fried Chicken was Delicious as well as the Green Beans and Okra. I also had Carrot Cake and some kind of Chocolate Pie and theyboth were heavenly! Well done Hog Heaven!! I enjoyed reading all of their cute little signs they had put up on the walls! Read more
My first time here. I normally don?t like hush puppies but they were soo good here. The chicken was kind of soggy I should?ve... got it fried hard. The Mac was watery but I really did like the hush puppies. Read more
At one point I really enjoyed eating here, the food and the service was good. Now all they have is rude teenagers working. I... pulled up at the drive through and sat there while the cashier didn't even acknowledge me and walked off not even opening thewindow to greet me. Worst service I've gotten in a long time. This is the first time since moving to NC that I?ve had NC BBQ and Hog Heaven did not disappoint. The no frills eatery is simple... and to the point serving simple and to the point BBQ. For less than $10 you get an entree with two sides and drink. You can?tbeat the price and the food is good as evidenced by the line wrapped around the building for the drive thru on a late Fridayafternoon. Front and center on the menu is BBQ but Hog Heaven also serves BBQ chicken, fried chicken, fried shrimp, and friedfish along with sandwich versions of each entree. Before finishing our meal, we already had our order in mind for the next visit- fried shrimp and fish with side of Brunswick stew. Just took my wife to the world famous Hog Heaven Bar-B-Q in Durham NC and I must say it was a great experience... the food as... you can c tells it all????????. I really wanted some ribs so I decided to give this place a try. I should of know when I didn?t smell the barbecue outside the... door it wasn?t BBQ. Anyway, ribs cooked in the oven are such a disappointment. The candy yams tasted like they were straight outof the can and so did the greens. I also got fried chicken, it was okay. The hush puppies were delicious though. I don?t likewasting food but this is definitely going to the garbage. Read more
