Reviews for Highway 3 Roadhouse & Oyster Bar in Durango, CO
As a Lousiana native my husband and I absolutely enjoyed our experience here. Coconut shrimp was quick and delightful. My... husband loved the fried alligator poboy. I did the chicken fried chicken. Loved ya'lls greens! The server let me try the etouffetoo and that's a must next time. My favorite was the chocolate pecan pie, sinfully delicious! Thank you! Read more
Truly wonderful food and service (with a special shout-out to Jessica--and Jessica, I'm here to entertain you). Highway 3... Roadhouse is hands down our go-to place to eat, and we take all of our out of town company there. I hats running joke withChuck: everytime we leave, I tell him the food wasn't great, so we'll just have to keep coming back! Seriously, Hwy 3 iswonderful. Read more

I'm sorry, its just not great food. Its just okay, but not even 3 star worthy. The crowd that frequents this establishment is... mostly older people, which is probably were it gets most of its regulars, but I dont think anyone younger would stick around forthe food. I got gumbo and it was unfortunately underwhelming even though I wanted to like it. I wasnt around for their oysterlunch special but I ordered some anyway. The amount of oyster meat you can get for price, excellent, 10/10, HOWEVER, the oysterslacked freshness and flavor as well. You just end up paying for quantity and not quality. Overpriced and flavorless food. :( Thestaff are very nice though. Read more
Very disappointed. Although the food is very good the service including the owner was horrid. 45 minute wait quoted, 1 hour 45... to be seated. Requested a drink while we waited and it was promised twice and didn't arrive. Would not recommend which is sad asthe food is above average for sure. Overall not worth the trip. Read more
The first place I stop to eat, upon entering Durango. This spot is filled with Cajun charm and southern hospitality. Perfect if... you are missing some home cooking, from the Gulf Coast. ???? Beautiful flowers line the outdoor area. Cute bees like to pop byand pollinate. ???? Be prepared to come in early and get in line. The food is delicious! Well worth the wait! Gluten freeoptions are clearly listed on the menu. The catfish and oysters were available gluten free (Hwy 3 shout out THANK YOU for the GFoptions). Full bar is available. Weekly specials. Friendly guests and bartenders. A fun time always included. Read more

This review is going to be contrary to what's posted, but when my wife and I visited, upon the recommendation of friends &... coworkers, needless to say, we both were NOT IMPRESSED. We arrived at 4:00 pm in hopes to get a table before they got busy butwere greeted with a 20 minute wait already. I took that as a good sign. Then I saw the lame political sign on the front door. Ishould have taken that as a sign of things to come. Food: I ordered the catfish (on special) with coleslaw & fries. My wifeordered the etouffee with collards. We also ordered alligator bites and a half dozen oysters. The etouffee tasted like a bowl ofbland, brown rice. The shrimp were not flavorful. All the flavors were muddled. The collards were VERY salty. But due to bacon,it was passable. My catfish was a sad disgrace. For $25, I received two pieces about 4"-5". The alligator bites were so small, Ialmost asked our waitress if they were popcorn shrimp. The oysters while good, had ENTIRELY too much cheese. Drinks: The BloodyMary was lackluster, not in the least bit spicy & on the weak side. For a place that bills itself as a creole/cajon restaurant, they only had two Abita beers. The rest of their beer list was standard domestics or some local brews. Not impressed. Service:The service was terrific and the best part of visiting here. She was attentive and friendly. For $148, I could have gone toHomeslice Pizza and gotten a FAR SUPERIOR meal. We'll never come back here. Probably the biggest hyped up, rip-off in Durango. Read more
