Best memories: Hiking perimeter of vineyards at sunrise during harvest, swinging under the walnut tree, visiting unusual... wineries recommended by staff, watching the orange harvest moon rise over the valley from the fireside patio. Best attributes ofinn: The grounds and inn are beautifully appointed, AND...the staff, including Emma are truly the gem of this place. They werequick to share their knowledge about the Black Walnut vineyard, the Dundee hills and surrounding wineries. Their enthusiasm wasinfectious, we couldn't wait to drive to some outlying vineyards and just explore the Willamette valley. Best takeaway: Tradinga bottle of wine from our area with the staff, a visit to the Abbott Claim winery with its underground tasting room AND knowingthat we will return to this hilltop inn again!! My wife and I, along with two close friends, just finished our stay at the Black Walnut (Rooms 7 & 9). Both rooms were wonderful... - spacious, well appointed and with incredible views (from the room and outside sitting areas). The property is located in theDundee Hill with an amazing view of multiple vineyards, the Willamette Vally and Mt. Hood off in the distance. It felt like wewere in Tuscany - and the architecture of the Black Walnut reinforced that notion! The Inn is centrally located in wine countrywith a number of good dining options (to keep with the Italian theme, be sure to dine at Rosmarino Osteria in Newburg whilevisiting!). Also, be sure to dine at the Inn one night as Chef Chase is incredible - creative/delicious menu! My wife and Ican't say enough good things about the Inn - it is a must visit! Read more

READ THE FINE PRINT BEFORE YOU RESERVE!!! I had reserved two rooms but 19 days before I found out I couldn?t stay when I?d... reserved. Their draconian cancellation policy wouldn?t let me get any of my money back or even reschedule, so I gifted my roomsto some friends. The communication around doing that was a bit more tedious than I expected but it worked out. They forgot togive one room the charcuterie plate I?d ordered and refunded me. My friends did love the place though! So definitely get travelinsurance if you plan to stay here. Read more

If I could give Black Walnut 1000 stars, I would! The first word that comes to mind is WOW. Our stay at Black Walnut Vineyard... was nothing short of amazing. The service is TOP NOTCH. Collin, especially, is the absolute best! He is super friendly andextremely knowledgeable on all things Willamette Valley. He provided recommendations to great wineries and restaurants. Theentire staff is extremely friendly, and the word ?no? is certainly not in their vocabulary. They even helped us package and shipour wine. And hats off to Chef Chase. His food is incredible! We could not wait to go to breakfast in the morning which wasoutstanding! The food is fresh and delicious. Even on our last day when Chef knew we wouldn?t be able to go to breakfast becausewe had to leave very early for the airport, he packed us up some of his amazing breakfast scones which we devoured at theairport! And if you have time to do dinner at Black Walnut, absolutely do it! We had the most spectacular meal with Chef Chase. The food was just the best. To top it all off, the grounds. Wow is Black Walnut a hidden gem. It is a Tuscan villa takenstraight from Italy. The grounds are absolutely stunning. The views of the beautiful Dundee hills are spectacular. The propertyitself is great too. The main house is straight out of a Restoration Hardware catalog (literally). It?s beautifully decoratedand there are plenty of things to do. You can lounge on one of the many patios, sit by the fire pits, play Corn Hole, or justsimply open a bottle of wine and just sit to enjoy the view (with blankets provided if it?s chilly, of course). Our room wasalso so beautiful. We had a big comfortable bed and the room had all the amenities and more. Our favorite part of the room wasthe private patio with Adirondack chairs where we would sit and enjoy our wine each day. I cannot say enough good things aboutBlack Walnut. They truly make you feel like family here. I always thought going to Oregon would be a one-time exp Read more
