Good spot for a la carte hot pot. I had the sichuan hot spicy broth and it was delicious and numbing. The beef and vegetables... were good. Comfy, quaint hot pot. The broth (beef bone & chicken) were quite plain but luckily they have a variety of sauce at the bar.... Their deals on the type of entree you want are affordable and abundant. We ordered the combo entree #18 ?Fish & Meat? and it wasa good amount for two. We also got yellow noodles, tripe, and a side order of Napa but we could have done without since theentree (I think) comes with a mixed bowl of veggies. This mini joint is great! Our host was attentive. This is the place for you if this is the first time trying hot pot style... dining. She explained everything from menu to taste. She showed us how to mix the sauces as well. It is small enough to be cozyand big enough to not feel cramped in. Read more
NOVEMBER 2021 UPDATE: It was a chilly night, perfect hot pot weather! My sis and I decided to eat here for our pre-Thanksgiving... meal since we won?t be together for the holidays. It was pretty busy for a Monday, but we were sat right away at the very lasttable in the back. (Which I didn?t mind, I love my privacy!) The waitress took our order promptly. My sister ordered the #13:Beef tendon ball & meat combo. She opted for lamb as her meat choice. I got the #14: Shrimp & meat combo, with beef as my choiceof meat. We also ordered the Fuzhou fish ball (Fish ball with meat filing) as a side. All hotpot options come with a huge plateof vegetables. Spinach, Napa cabbage, & clear glass noodles were aplenty, a few enoki & oyster shrooms, tofu, and then 1 pieceeach of other various veggies, a hotdog, & egg. You get to choose your own broth and cook it in a cute mini individual hot potright at the table. We both got the clear beef bone broth. Pro tip: Get one of the free broths (Beef bone, chicken, orvegetarian) and add your own flavorings from the sauce bar! Speaking of the sauce bar, I went 3 times haha?there are widevariety of sauces and toppings to choose from so you can mix & match and create your own concoction. I mixed a bunch of stufftogether (Like 10 things lmao) to create an epic umami packed dipping sauce! Everything came out with virtually no wait and theservice was excellent. They came and check up on us often, always asked if everything was okay and if we needed more broth orwater. We even got complimentary shaved ice with grass jelly. Very tasty, seemed clean and very nice family atmosphere! We got there before 5 and after 5 it was busy, almost full. Yet never... felt it was slow. They have a section you can go and mix sauces as you like, for no extra cost. That was a niceidea/addition. The waiters were very patient with us, as it was my first experience with hot pot...so Thank you for explainingeverything and answering my questions! It is kinda pricey if you take it per person . But this is USA and not any place inAsia, so you don't have that food every day, but for special occasions or a good day out with family...so if you think of it assuch, it is a really nice place to go to eat. J's was a decent hotpot experience. Limited offering in terms of higher quality meat selection but I enjoyed my meal. Veggies... were fresh, would have enjoyed more mushrooms. I always laugh when they add a fileted hotdog with the plate. Read more
