Absolutely magical. It was even better with the restaurant closed. We had the mountains completely to ourselves. Unlike a... crowded visit to the smokies. The room was gorgeous and a small kitchen was perfect. Can?t recommend this enough if your lookingfor peace and quiet with a priceless view. The restaurants in town were delish. Really wish we could have stayed longer. Read more

We would have loved to experience the beautiful scenery, but the restaurant was closed and I already had lodging on Norris Lake.... What a shame that an alternative option is not available. Disappointed family fron KY. Read more

Have been to McCloud several times. Rooms are amazing. The view is breathtaking. Food, except for our visit last night, is... delicious. The prime rib was unseasoned and dry. The salmon was fishy. The asparagus was so undercooked that it snapped like astick. For 121.00 for two people it should have been so much better than that. Our waitress was fantastic and very efficientand sweet. There was a wedding last night which we felt attributed to the poor quality of food. We?ll be back for sure but mightwant to rethink the wedding service if you?re also open to the public. It?s a great place and we would recommend it to anyone. Was just really sad about the food since we brought friends and family from out of town and we raved about your food, only toleave them disappointed. Amazing views food is great Wife and I had BBQ sandwiches friend had Italian dish and was great, another had ribs and was... delicious. We were in town staying at Walden Woods riding SXS , short drive and recommend it ,service was good. We thoughtprices would be high since you have to make reservations, they were reasonable and dress code was casual. We will be back nexttrip. Read more

We love McClouds Mountaintop restaurant. We took our out of town family there last week and everything was fantastic! We had a... late reservation so some of the items we wanted we no longer available but that didn't take away from our enjoyment. We justordered what was available because everything they have is so good! And John our waiter I can't say enough good things about. Hetried so hard to make our visit the best it could be. Of course the view is outstanding, the food superior and the servicegreat. Although this restaurant too has been dealt with some hard blows due to the pandemic they still try their best to live upto the 5* rep they've had for so long. This was our third time there and we will go back. Read more

I don't know about about lodge, but as far as the restaurant goes the view is the only thing that's special As far as a... restaurant goes, this is one of the worst and most disappointing experiences I've had in a long time. For a place that seemed so"exclusive" (and not cheap) I was expecting a 5-star experience. However, there were so many issues it would be easier to justlist them in a numbered format: 1) The carpet around our table looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in a week, and the tablesdid not look particularly clean either. Even my menu looked dirty. They were paper menus and mine had stains on it from whoeverused it last. 2) There were two or three items that were on the menu on their website online that we tried to order and theydidn't make them anymore. Apparently they never never update their online menu to reflect what they actually have available. 3)Our waitress was nice, but there were numerous issues that came up that I just couldn't believe was happening. For example evenas she was bringing out our food we still did not have utensils or napkins and had to ask for them, and they weren't nice clothnapkins like you get in a nice restaurant (or one that costs this much) they were just your basic napkins like you'd get atMcDonald's. 4. Probably the most unbelievable thing that happened was, four or five people (we had a part of 11) in our crewordered the pulled pork nachos. Every single one came out with any pulled pork on them...at all. My brother finally asked aftera little bit how the pork was and one of my cousins said they didn't have any on it. We told the waitress who found out whathappened and unbelievably, instead of telling a manager and offering them some money off of their bill or something, she broughtout a plate of pulled pork so they could put it on their half-eaten, pulled pork-less, pulled-pork nachos.. which by then whybother? The view truly is AMAZING, and that alone is worth the trip, just don't expect a great dining Read more

Beautiful view. Service was slow and hard to get everything we ordered. Had to keep reminding the waitress of items that we... should have got when our food was first and FINALLY brought out. Was a little disappointed in the food quality for the priceespecially it being our first time there. Again, the view was amazing Read more

All in all a very good experience. Not the first and definitely not the last time I will go.. The bread was warm and good with... the butter. The Salmon was good. The Ribs were huge, pretty tender and had a good flavor. Group of four, the waitress asdecently attentive and tried to be proactive with refills and such. to have any suggestion - for the price, butter, sour cream, etc should not come out in prepacked plastic containers... 1 as always the view is amazing and everyone was very friendly Read more
