Came here a couple weeks ago as our ?adults night out? and it was fabulous. The six of us all enjoyed our cocktails and the food... was fantastic. Service was stellar and the view from the dining room got better and better as the evening went along. Wouldhighly recommend. Read more
Everything about this place was incredible. The building backed up to the ocean and in turn view made you feel as if you were... floating above the water. The food was fresh and delicious. The halibut was a little on the plain side, but the shallots andseafood pasta were both incredible, packed with flavor and very filling. Lastly the cocktails were incredible, recommend the OBXG&T or Sangria as the presentation on both were unique and fun. Very pleased with this one. Read more
Kimball's is an upscale restaurant on the Outer Banks. It is a refreshing change from the beach bars and tiki grills. The... views are amazing especially during a thunderstorm! The food was amazing. The star of the night was the porterhouse special. Dessert was perfect. As I said this is an upscale restaurant. The prices are higher than you would see at other diningestablishments but the quality of the food and the ambiance is well worth it. Read more
DELICIOUS is an understatement. Last night was mine and my husbands first time at Kimballs Kitchen and we were blown away. The... restaurant itself is beautiful. The food was out of this world and the service and staff was impeccable. The Carolina crab soupis a MUST! It is on the expensive side, but well worth it. Read more

I'll start by saying I never write reviews like this but our experience last night compelled me to post this one. A huge... transformation has taken place at Kimball's Kitchen -- a great one. We tried this place about six years ago and the food wassubpar, the service was lackluster, and the atmosphere was stuffy. Combined with the high prices, we vowed never to return. Butlast night our kids wanted to go crabbing at a nearby pier, so my wife and I decided to grab a drink at the bar. The bar anddining room are beautiful - Kimball's has arguably the nicest sound-side location in all of OBX. Yet because of our pastexperience, a quick visit and a view of the water was the plan. But as we started to look around, we noticed the entire mood ofthe place was different than before. The room was fun and upbeat. The staff was engaging. The menu was different, and we couldsee from the food being served that the quality was significantly better. We had reservations at Lifesaving Station across thestreet, which the team at Kimball's kindly helped facilitate, but Steve (Kimball's manager) introduced himself and said he couldseat us at Kimball's if we wished. We warned him that our kids would be underdressed arriving in sweatshirts from their crabbingmission. Steve didn't hesitate. "No problem at all," he said. "We'd love to have you." So we decided to give it a go. And weare glad we did. From the very first course we could tell the food was going to be spectacular. It was. Everything wasincredible. Toward the end of the meal I said to Steve as he passed by that our experience was night and day from the last timewe had been there. He appreciated the comment and said that he had been working very hard this season on turning the restaurantinto the great place it has now become. He then sat with us for 15 minutes and regaled us with awesome stories about his 25 yearcareer in the food service industry. What a great guy and talent - Sanderling Resort is very lucky to have Read more
