I have made what I had thought to be a full spectrum of reviews: from great, wonderful, average, eh, harsh, angry, and... absolutely awful reviews. This is the first "saddest" review I have ever made as S&S is no longer the personable, full service,quick food experience that made it fun and a great place for the family. The good: Food was wonderful, the line cooks did agreat job! The shakes were smooth and tasty, the workers did their jobs very well! The bad: The "whipped cream" on the shake washorrible. It was warm and thick. Reminded me of whipped vegetable shortening, like cheap, garbage, store bought cake icingwithout sugar. Don't spend the extra to get this nasty and can't be whipped cream option. The ugly: (why the S&S experience wasruined by no fault of the workers that were there and did their great job but made it so very sad.) Kiosk ordering at one of thefive stations in the small entry area, having your name and/or order number called and to go to the pick up counter to get yourown shakes, waters, food, drinks. The shakes were served in take-out cups and the food was in plastic baskets (remember thefancy shake glasses and real plates?), clean up your table, having to tip at the time of the order, and there was no personableinteraction at the table. A huge disappointment because the "stores" cannot get and keep people to work thanks to the cv19reset. (This was what the one employee who actually spoke to me explained the situation to be when I asked why the change.) Theexperience of S&S is now cafeteria style. Based on my first visit, I was not all that impressed. The food came out fairly quickly, which was a plus. I got the grilled... cheese with some bacon, and a large cheese fries. The fries were INCREDIBLY salty. Like overwhelmingly so. The grilled cheesewas mostly flavourless, though I will admit I think the bacon detracted from it instead of adding to it so I'm unsure on that.The milkshake (Reese's peanut butter) was rather good though. I would not recommend the fries, but the shakes at this locationare definitely worth at least getting. The fries I will try again in hopes that this was a one off. Read more
I love the new setup! It?s a self-ordering kiosk and while I do love and have always had positive interactions with the wait... staff at Steak n Shake, the kiosk was easy and quick to use. Restaurant was really clean, a nice atmosphere and our food wasserved a lot quicker than I expected?shakes and drinks were ready first, and then the meals. My steak burger was great?warm,crisp produce, and onion rings with a great crunch. Staff and service was friendly, polite, helped me quickly when I couldn?tfind napkins. Best Steak ?n Shake I?ve ever ate at. About 2pm I ordered my food today (11/10/22) and the guy cooking it did a great job. He... actually gave me extra onion and pickle! Every time I ask I barely get any on my burger from any restaurant. Keep up the goodwork dude! Appreciate it! Read more
