After the new owners took over every went down hill. From rotten fish, sushi falling apart/too big, to not knowing anything... about the culture. Will be sticking to the one placed in leduc from the old owner. Worth the drive for better/ eatable sushi. Read more

So I've been going to Yozakura for the better part of a year now and I've really come to appreciate the consistent quality I get... from them... they really tend to deliver when you want some good Japanese food. Here's some of my favourites: 1. The teriyakibento boxes - They make the sauce in-house and when combined with the perfectly-cooked-but-not-overcooked chicken it's amazing.Comes with a bit of tasty salad with a nice sauce, some rice, and assorted veg tempura (including shrimp and yam, myfavourites). Quite filling for about $20, makes a great lunch. 2. The sashimi tower - I love salmon sashimi, it's my favourite, and it's always what I get at other restaurants. When I found out you could order a tower of salmon sashimi here and that itcame with ripe avocado, crispy tempura bits and a bit of spicy mayo I was in. It rocks, and the tempura bits really tie ittogether. Nicely presented as a tidy cylinder too, you'll see. 3. The sunomono salad - If you've never had it before you shouldgive it a try, it's just a small bowl of glass noodles in a very light, clear sweet & sour soup. It's really light andrefreshing, especially the vegetable version. I like to order mine with extra noodles as the standard order comes as more of anappetizer size and I really want more of that taste. 4. Chopped scallop nigiri - This is such a simple recipe...layer of ricetopped with chopped raw scallop mixed with a bit of mayo, topped with some tobiko (little red fish eggs), and then wrapped in abit of dried seaweed. But once I've dipped the rice in a bit of soy sauce these little things are like flavour bombs, bothsmooth and creamy as well as a bit salty from the soy. So good. I usually get a couple with my meal to eat along the way. 5.The rolls - Lots of variety, but many include tempura shrimp, BBQ eel, and salmon so I've lots to love here. They tend to bevery well-made and great to share. Again, great restaurant, I'd put it up against the best I ever found in Calgary. Read more

It's Drayton Valley not Tokyo City. It is pricey for the size of sashimi but understandable. Quality of sushi was edible and I... would still return again. When life gives you one option, you just make the most of it. Speaking of authenticity.. most of itis lost upon arrival into Canada unless one has been to Japan and can vouch for its authenticity. My personal choice would bethe Dragon roll - the unagi sauce is a delight with the rolls and salmon sashimi to pair with. Get the miso soup, it isn't onthe menu but ask for it and it will be served. You won't go wrong with miso soup. Not in 5 years time nor today when u getit. That's it. 3 stars for the only sushi place in Drayton Valley. It is commendable for what it's worth. Menus for yourreview because they don't seem to have one that is readable. No official menus available on their Facebook page either. You'rewelcome. Peace out. ???????? This is the takeaway experience. Read more
