1st Time Here. The Food was everything. They understand the concept of food being flavorful without being salty. Very... Impressed!!! I tried this for the first time and won?t be back unfortunately. I have been searching for a soul food place to love. I ordered... a vegetable plate with dressing and gravy, potato salad, and butter beans and a second plate with fried chicken wings, mac andcheese, collards and yams. The butter beans & the chicken was the only thing that was good. I didn?t like the type of browngravy for the dressing, I should have specified turkey or chicken gravy. The yams had a terrible after taste. We didn?t finisheither plate. The hostess at the front was nice and I hope the best for this restaurant and maybe I will try a different mealnext time. Read more

The sides are seasoned well and taste great; hence the three stars. However, I am completely disappointed in what they serve as... shrimp. This is from a box in the frozen food section of a grocery store. It's gross and definitely not worth the money charged.Unsure of the other meats and how they are prepared; but this shrimp in no way can be considered soul food. I ate there again this week, I was a little disappointed this visit my green beans was cold I had dressing and two bites I was... finished my chicken was salty and fried twice. I had a slice of red velvet cake and I think it was old. My meal was about 22bucks, I?m now realizing Just Like Mama?s it?s a little pricey. Read more

This was my first time experience and I got a excellent first impression. It was clean and the owner was playing some good old... school music. We engaged in conversation and she made us feel like we were at Grandma house. I'm a foodie and very picky. Shesatisfied my craving for "Real Soul Food". Clean restaurant, friendly service, and some of the best food I've eaten in a long time. Big servings and even bigger flavors,... some unexpected but all delicious. We had the pork chop, meatloaf, mac and cheese, cabbage, mashed potatoes, and rice. And itwas all so good we're considering making the 2-hour drive to Douglasville just to try more items on the menu.
