Had not ate at Hudsons in 15 years after moving away. This place hasn't changed since i went there for the first time 30 years... ago. The smoked meats still have that great smokey flavor and tender. The brunswick stew is some of the best I've ever eaten.You'll want to take some extra home. The atmosphere hasn't changed. The service is outstanding, courteous and the food comesquick. Terrible. Not sure how they have 5 stars. I got the beef, which tasted of pure vinegar. I also got the sliced chicken which... tasted overcooked and old. The fries were not hot and also tasted as though they were sitting out. The texture and temperaturewas inconsistent. The fried pickles were edible but nothing special, and definitely not made in house. They buy them frozen.This is NOT good bbq. Don?t not be fooled by the 5 stars like me. Nice and roomy dining room with a good view of the kitchen through glass windows. Service was prompt and the menu was easy to... understand. Nice selection of lunch items. The barbecue smell was quite good and really made you want to try it. Was glad I didas it was among the best I have had. Good barbecue well worth trying. Read more

Super sweet family restaurant that's been around for decades and really takes care of their community and you get that feel just... being here. BUT, the food is not good. Meats are very dry, baked beans are both overly sweet and too tangy and my cornbread wasso rubbery I feel like it just came out of a microwave. So. Thats my experience. Read more

First time here. Waitress got a bit snotty because we told her that our unsweetened tea tasted awful and wanted water instead.... Items we had: suicide dog, fries, sandwich, stew, salad with smoked chicken. Suicide dog is all my friend will order here. Heloves it. Hubby had the sandwich with fries and stew. I had the salad with stew. Fries could have been cooked a little more. Iliked the stew because I don't like mine chunky but hubby didn't. My salad with house made ranch was very good. Needing food quickly on date night, we stopped here to grab a bite to eat. We ordered Hickory Fries with Beef for an appetizer.... I ordered the Pork Plate. My wife ordered Super Salad with Smoked Chicken. Everything came out quickly and the plates wereoverflowing. Great flavor on the Barbecue. We will definitely return in the future. This place was so delicious! Their junkyard dog was amazing! Good Brunswick stew and delicious cornbread! Their waiters and... cooks are amazing. Very nice people who pay attention to their customers. I should have got something to take home and munch onbut I completely forgot. I expected them to have homemade pie but they had Sara Lee, which was fine because it was delicious! Ihighly recommend going if you are looking for some darn good BBQ with good customer service! First time to come here in a while. We had a pork plate with Brunswick stew and baked beans, a grilled cheese sandwich with... pork, and fried green beans.
