Reviews for Wild Dog Grille in Douglas, MI
Super experience tonight. We were cruising around looking for food and found Wild Dog on our ventures. Let me start out by... saying that if you?re after a $12.99 steak dinner, this isn?t the place for you. Think more like upscale, gourmet food. Ifyou?re looking for a classy place to take your date, hit this joint up. We showed up and were seated right away. I ordered mystandard ?dealer?s choice? beer, which is whatever the server wants to bring. No disappointments with the beer choice. Theyhave a house ale that?s amazing, order the Wild Dog ale. We ordered steak and taters. The Wagyu steak is a nice think cut, agedand cooked to absolute perfection. The potatoes are wonderfully browned. All-in it was a fantastic experience. Wild Dog is atrue asset to the Douglas/Saugatuck area. They?re dog friendly too!! Read more
I?ve been to this restaurant a few times but the last 2 visits the food was terrible. I always order the Wild Dog Burger. I ask... for median rare but always comes well done. There is a mixture of flavors that don?t go together. The fries were soggy andgreasy. The worst of the meal come at the end. I ordered Panacota for dessert. It was like eating rubber w an awful taste. Idon?t understand how the kitchen can send something out that tastes so bad. $40 is a steep price to pay for bad food. I willnever come back. Read more
Service was great. Erica was great! Nice decor. Ordered a few martinis that were wonderful! Calamari was tough and chewy.... Gazpacho was good. Ceasar salad was excellent. Very good burgers. Vegan curry was tasty after some extra salt and somethinginedible ( mushrooms??). Talipia tacos could have used something more, not much flavor. Peach cobbler was gummy. Panna cottawas not good. For the cost of this restaurant, I would expect a white table cloth without brown paper and real cloth napkins. It just seemed to cheapen the experience. Maybe I am being too picky. But, when you drop close to $300 on a dinner, I expectmore . Only reason that I'm giving a 4 star is because I want all businesses to succeed and feel that ratings are crucial. Read more
The wild dog burger is absolute perfection! I love to shop the SaugDoug area, but this is the best part of the trip. Of course... it is always busy, but the wait doesn?t matter to me. Decor is completely unique and very interesting. Great staff! Great food! Great drinks! Great vibes! Read more
Waited over an hour for two burgers. Was told we were almost up, only 4 tickets ahead of us. We're seated directly at kitchen... exit. 6 plates later, including dessert for table next to us which came and ordered after us, "our order is next." 3 more comeout, plus orders going directly to patio. We waited over hour 20 minutes, can't wait longer; tables around us have ordered, eaten, paid and left. We left without food. Read more
The drinks, calamari appetizer, and burger were all outstanding. I like the decor and the service was great.
Nice restaurant in center of Douglas. Summertime outside terrace is cosy. Watch out mosquitoes, those comes when the sun goes... down. Try wild dog burger, it is juicy and tasty. Pizzas look like homemade and are really rich of ingredients. Wine list isgood an in tap they have local selection. Read more
Disappointed. I heard great things about this restaurant from so many friends. With the high food prices I had high... expectations. I went simple and ordered their gourmet grilled cheese. It was so disgusting. One of my slices of bread was thebutt of the loaf. They tried hiding it by placing the end on the inside of the sandwich. Waitress service was limited and notworth the wait trying to send back the sandwich. Luckily we ordered an appetizer and my friend shared some of her sandwich. Shealso ordered the grilled cheese and hers had sliced block cheese just thrown on. Not melted at all. For $12, you too can havethe worst sandwich with no sides. I HIGHLY do not recommend this place for food or service. Read more
