This was our first time to KBC. Love the atmosphere, and our waitress. Maddie was great. I ordered the tacos and my husband... ordered the bee's knees. Plus fried okra fries as a side. I enjoyed my meal. My husband loved his sandwich but did think hisGouda grits were a little dry. After our waitress asked how our meal was, he mentioned it, and she said that she would let thekitchen know. We appreciate good customer service. We will be back, when in Dothan again. Read more
The front of building looked inviting. Didn't really see the sign KBC till I got closer. When we walked in we were greeted... quickly. And even though Saturday night was a reserve seating only night , they still let us dine. The ambiance of the placewas very cozy and welcoming . The wait staff was very nice and knowledgeable on the menus. We ordered Steak frites and Surf andTurf. We enjoyed the surroundings and was very happy with our choice to come here. Our food came out in a timely manner. TheSteak frites looked so good , nice plating . Also The Surf and Turf looked delicious. I also had a Hemingway Daiquiri. That wasgreat with my plate. You might want to dress up a bit to come so you don't look out of place with everyone else dressed nice.But don't worry you don't have to wear a jacket unless you want to. Gorgeous decor, and with the first visit didn?t realise we had to make reservations, so I made them for the next week. We were... sat a bit later than the reservation time, which gave opportunity to view the menu, and placed the order as soon as we weresat. First drinks arrived within minutes, however the appetiser took about 20 minutes and the drinks weren?t refilled for aboutanother 10 minutes. The deviled eggs were delicious and made the food to arrive very promising despite the wait. After waitinganother 10ish minutes were told food would be on its way. About an hour after being seated the food arrived. The top of my pastalooked oily and congealed and I was worried that it had been sat out for a while, then simply reheated in a microwave. Thefirst bite the pasta was complete mush, so unappealing I had to spit it back into the bowl. The burger that was ordered was dryand room temp, the bacon on it charred so badly it looked like a roofing shingle and was bitter. Even the side salad were justbelow room temperature. The waiter and the manager apologised and offered to make it right with something else from the menu,however, after so much anticipation and this severe let down I didn?t want a replacement that would require another hourspotential wait. I did offer to pay for everything that had been presented but did make it clear that I was unhappy with thefood, and that I would not be returning. They did remove the unsatisfactory items from the tab. However, any restaurant thatwants to present a high calibre image, must in all services be on their best game. Beautiful- Beautiful venue!! Laid back southern feel. Loved the decor, the exposed brick and picture filled walls really made it... shine. Food was good enough for me to try them again. Rhe fried okra fries were amazing, tacos were okay, the Street has to growon me. Drove down from Montgomery to just have brunch and it was so worth it!! I have been following Kelsey since Top Chef and upon... moving to Alabama I knew I had to eat here. My spouse had never had red eye gravy (he?s midwestern) and his mind was blow. Thegirts alone I could have taken a 5lb bucket home of. Bonus I ordered every cookie in the pastry case and ate at home later. Wesat at the bar and the bartenders were great! Love this spot! Read more
