Reviews for Dante's Pizza in Dothan, AL
We came in from out of state to a corn maze with a big group of friends and were looking for a place to accommodate us for... dinner. The young lady who answered the phone was super nice and said of course they could! It was kismet that led us to thisdinning establishment to eat and we are so glad it did! All the staff was incredibly kind, positive and attentive. Half ourgroup was young kids and the most curious one of all caught the chef's attention. (I assuming it was Mr. Dante himself!) Heended up showing our young curious kiddo how pizza is made and even brought out tiny bits of dough for all the kids to playwith. It felt like we were apart of the family in an Italian kitchen on a Sunday evening. It was so heartwarming. The chef's sonhad come in to help with closing. (I hate being "that" group that stays past closing, but they never made us feel like we were.)We could hear him telling the staff on what things were and weren't called in Italy. So we got a nice lesson in that aswell! Now on the actual food, it was so delicious! The crust is thin, but light, airy and crunchy all the same time. Bigfoldable slices that fill you up so quickly! The sauce is bright and acidic and is a warm bed for toppings and cheese. We gotthe meat lovers and it definitely fulfilled that description. The meat is shaved thin but layered on thick. The cheese is savorywith a great snap but gooeyness to it. You could tell they did not skimp on ingredients. Most of all you can feel the love andjoy of feeding people baked right into that pie. This place will be one we travel back for. Read more

We moved from Orlando area to Dothan a few months ago. Really needing a good NY style pie we have tried all around and meh! Went... to Dante's dine in and it was the best we've found in the wiregrass. Ordered 2 to go as we had guests and as always "well doneand light cheese" We got under done (thick and chewy) and what appeared to be extra cheese. I'm giving 3 stars as an average...1goooood and 2 bad! Will try one more time and update review. UPDATE: 3 stars to 4 Tried dine-in last week and the pizza wasmuch better that the previous carryout! I requested light cheese and they are still heavy handed on the cheese. Next time extralight cheese may be the key. Read more

I've been going to Dante's since I was 6. I have supported this business for my entire life. Tonight, after placing an online... order, I received the most laughably poor service from a restaurant I've ever gotten. I waited the half hour that the onlineorder suggests. I went to the restaurant to be told that my food will be ready in about 10 minutes. I was told this four times. In all, from order confirmation to receiving my food, I waited 90 minutes. For one calzone. The owner of the restaurant was inand seemed totally unfazed by my repeated entering and leaving the store. At least five customers entered the restaurant afterme, and received their food before me. I am honestly not sure that I will ever eat Dante's pizza again, and that truly saddensme. But I cannot in good conscience give my money to a restaurant that cares so little about customer satisfaction. Read more
