Bon. I really like this place. First impressions are important and this place has good atmosphere as soon as I you walk in. I... know it?s hard to find good staff these days but they did. My food was really good just like a real Parisian bistro. They dida good job on our cocktails too so I may come back just to drink next time! I think my favorite thing was the feeling of beingin Paris again. Read more

Ill be honest, this was my FIRST time. I hate to give a review until I?ve been somewhere AT LEAST 2-3 times? but first time was... a CHARM! The lobster stew was good?. but the Tomato Bisque is a MUST. The beet gnocchi was respectable and our favorite cocktailout of 4 was ?The Sazerac?. If you miss the key lime dessert at the end, you?ve missed. Need to go back soon to try the WHOLEmenu!! Read more

Sat out on the patio yesterday with my partner to celebrate our anniversary and the experience was wonderful. Chris and Andrew... were very friendly and treated us like royalty! We had the steak, braised short ribs, scallop and french onion soup. To drink wehad the Brut Rose which was perfect. Everything was delicious and we gave a 10/10 rating. Would highly recommend! Celebrated a birthday, had the Escargot, Scallop Rossini, Braised Short Ribs (amazing), Poussin Poulet Frite. We also added the... sides of mushrooms and asparagus. They brought out a happy birthday dessert and my husband had the carrot cake. Read more

This was our first visit to the Statler, and it did not disappoint! First, the service is top notch! Ask for Sharon if she's... available, we loved her. The food was incredible. They started us with a fancy little amuse-bouche in a pie-crust like box withsmoked fish. For appetizers, we tried the Potted Foie Gras Mousse (WONDERFUL!), the Lobster Stew ?Locke-Obers? Style (greattaste, but perhaps a bit more "milky" than we'd like... we were thinking of lobster bisque, this is much more a light creamsoup), and the Fromage Du Jour, which I found out is a dessert option. But, it was fantastic - the choice of cheeses combinedwith the honey and fruit was amazing. Main courses were the Braised Short Ribs and a chef's special that evening, a filet andlobster tail combo. Robert really enjoyed his steak and lobster - cooked perfectly and the portion was generous. I had thebraised short ribs and WOW! One of the best meals I've had at a restaurant. It was so tender, I could cut it with myfork. Statler has a large wine selection, but the "by the glass" selections were a bit sparse. We both found a wine we likedand the pour was generous. I finished up with their "death by chocolate" dessert. Also wonderful. We tend to judge new (to us)restaurants using the "would we go back" criteria, and the Statler hit all the marks! Read more

Service service service. Austin, Rob, and the hostess (whose name I didn?t catch) sold the entire Statler experience for us.... Kind, attentive, funny, and knowledge about the menu. Regardless of taste, I?d probably go back just to hang out with thesethree! One of the top five dining experiences I?ve had in the city. The ambiance is absolutely perfect. Maybe I?m getting old,but I hate restaurants that are so dim you can barely see your date across the table. Thankfully, they?ve cracked the code onlighting that?s balanced between setting the mood and serving the functional purpose of sight. A classy interior with stylishdecor and comfortable booths. Each bite we had seemed to be better than the last. From our cheese platter to the complimentarybread, drinks, entrees, and dessert. Everything hit the mark. Be warned: the portion sizes are generous. Our cheese platter wasplenty for two and the a la carte whipped potatoes could easily be shared with 3 people. Good variety to the menu with plenty tochoose from if you like seafood in particular. My only regret is not getting the tomato bisque which is topped with a delicatepuff pastry- it looked absolutely delicious. The Perfect downtown spot for a date night, client dinner, girls night, or just atreat yourself moment. I can?t wait to be back- The Statler is welcome addition to the downtown Detroit food scene.
