The Gathering isn't just a coffee shop, it's a place that welcomes and integrates you into itself. It's warm and familiar and... friendly. People talk about how it's a business that's also concerned with community; you get that sense with how staff interactwith you. But it also is still a coffee shop. And they are quite good at coffee too. Well-roasted and sharp in flavor. Theymake very intriguing coffee cocktails (non-alcoholic) too. There's an unusually high concentration of (very good) coffee shopspretty close to New Center - but the combination of both the coffee and the space in which that coffee is consumed makesGathering my favorite of all of them.
