Neat little place right on Woodward. I had the short rib skillet which was excellent and my wife had the fennel and pear salad.... She loved hers as well. On Saturdays, they seem to have a DJ in the restaurant. I liked the music but it was very difficultfor my wife and I to have a conversation because the music was very loud. Unfortunately I must have went on an off day because compared to these past reviews, this place is NOT WORTH IT. Group of 6 went... for brunch. Waitress was rude and only checked on us in 15 min intervals. She blatantly ignored attempts at getting herattention. Sat numerous times waiting for service! Glasses were DIRTY (stains & lipstick smears!) had to send back for newones. Salmon breakfast was completely dried out and eggs were runny (yikes!). Sent my whole meal back and never ate! I was not pleased with the quality if the food here. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich and the meat was overcooked. It came with... fries. Both the fries and the sandwich had way too much salt. Salt was practically the only thing I tasted on my food. I alsofelt the portion size was a bit on the small size especially for a sandwich that costs over $15. Another incident was that at atable next to mine a customer ordered Brussel sprouts and that made the whole room smell bad; I was trying to figure out whatthe foul oder was until I realized it was their food. The one redeeming thing about the restaurant is the service was good andcourteous. Also it should be noted that the tip is automatically added to every bill. The Happy Hour is awesome!!!! The food is delicious!!! The staff...amazing!!! My husband and I showed up with no... reservations.....they squeezed us in....we enjoyed the happy hour Brussel Sprouts....then....THE WINGS....oh my....some of thebest I've had!!!! They were on point....not only the sauce...but how they were cooked....cleanest wing bones I've had!!!! TheCajun pasta was also scrumptious!!! I stopped eating it just to have leftovers.....their slogan is "Neighborhood Grill &Bar".....I told the waitress I wish they were in my neighborhood!!!! 2 reviews After a long day at work, I joined a few friends for dinner here at the Block! The staff was extremely friendly and... very well organized. (Being short staff didn't seem to bother them) knowing that staff was limited we still got our food quitequickly, and it was amazing and hot! Drinks were also great as well. Wonderful atmosphere enjoyed the dj the star of the show was the bartender T, she made my first time experience at this... establishment so comfortable. She was welcoming and informative regarding the menu and drinks everytime i looked up she wassmiling or laughing and her drinks were so good. My food was tasty the shrimp and grits were good.
