I took my husband as a surprise for his birthday and he(we) loved it! We got there 6p with a reservation for 6:15 on a Saturday,... we were pleasingly surprised to be seated immediately! The waitress Kelly was very helpful. We told her what we liked,drinks/food, she made suggestions that were perfect for us! The manger, Mika was very very down to earth, she came to check onus, wished my Husband happy birthday, and overall made sure everyone?s dining experience was great! If you normally don?t likewaiting for your food/drinks to prepared fresh, w/fresh ingredients, you WILL have a change of heart, because everything wasworth the wait- fresh ingredients, food cooked served hot, and positive happy people who knows what it means to be in theservice industry! Staff was on point with all requests. The wings were good. The sauce was delicious. Buffalo cauliflower a little too spicy but... good texture. Drinks perfect. Location is right on the street if you are outside. Inside has great decor. Read more
I stopped here for lunch on a solo trip. The staff were very welcoming & have great customer service. I had the pleasure of... speaking with one of the managers, Meeka, who showed me a great time! The Cajun shrimp pasta was seasoned amazingly & a largeportion. It did take longer than normal to receive my food, because I arrived immediately upon opening but I didn?t mind becausethe staff provided the best hospitality & offered me an alternative for my cocktail (blueberry smash) which is made freshly onsite daily. The food we had was really good. The cocktails were weak. The Shrimp and Grits was good. But the taste can be too much after a... while. But they give you a lot of food. The staff was very friendly. It?s pretty small inside. I love that we could makereservations. I can?t wait to go back and sit outside. I wish they had a seasonal fruit bowl. Read more
Smaller establishment than I assumed but a clean establishment. Short wait for food. Unfortunately, servers and hostess was not... wearing masks. Wonder if the chefs wore masks while cooking the food. Came here for late lunch. Ordered the shrimp and grits,wings, and salmon sliders. Other than the wings, wasn't impressed with the rest of the dishes. Grits was clumpy, only provided 4shrimp, and the flavor had a similar flavor as the wings. Salmon sliders were just slabs of salmon between two pieces of bread.For a black owned established I expected better. More flavor and fresher food would've improved the experience. Read more
This was a much welcoming "warm atmosphere" on a nippy winter Saturday afternoon in the Detroit. I decided to grab an early meal... and was highly pleased with my decision to visit this restaurant. All the staff was courteous, attentive and in good spirits. Isampled two dishes from the brunch menu and enjoyed a couple of their signature cocktails. There is enclosed and covered outdooreating area that is open, but usually heated with an early reservation. I enjoyed this experience and will certainly revisit. Read more
I had an amazing brunch with my sorors at this establishment! I?ve been following them on Instagram for a second and suggested... that we try it - I was more drawn to it due to it being Black Owned and in the heart of Detroit. We made our reservationsyesterday to be able to come in on the following day. I ordered the shrimp & grits as well as the mezcal wings. The grits comewith bacon and I was glad that they offered the option of having turkey, pork, or vegan bacon (I LOVE THE INCLUSIVITY)!! Theportions and flavor we?re definitely worth the price. Once my entire party arrived, we were seated and the waitress that we hadalso ended up being our bartender earlier. I truly admired her for stepping in because she saw that the other waiters wereserving other patrons (teamwork makes the dream work). I also believe the owner was helping out on the floor as well- I commendher on opening up such a wonderful establishment and employing superb employees. We also had several waiters check in on usthroughout our visit, which I loved! The food came out hot. My party also tried various brunch selections including - the Frenchtoast, Irish coffee, mimosa, and the jalapeño cocktail (I forgot the name) but they all stated that the food was superb. I was hesitant to try because of the reviews, but the service and the food was amazing here! We ate outside on the enclosed... patio and Kelly took amazing care of us. The Cajun pasta was not too spicy and a very generous portion. I loved that it wasn?tfull of pasta, very well balanced. The beef in the burger was amazing and we loved the egg on top. The chicken sandwich was goodbut you have to love spicy because it was hot!! The crab cake was flaky, soft and delicious. The shrimp tacos were just okay.The short rib tacos were better. The asparagus was perfectly seasoned and cooked. If I returned, I would get the pasta, crabcake or the burger. Read more
