Reviews for Iggy's Eggies in Detroit, MI

Iggy's is a cute, literal "hole in the wall" take-out counter on a side street in Downtown Detroit. While there is no seating at... the restaurant, there are plenty of great seating options at a nice little park just down the block. It felt very safe, withvery nice shops and buildings, and there were lots of people around. They have a fairly standard menu of breakfast sandwichesand other lunch fare. The breakfast sandwich is their specialty - You can choose your bread and sandwich toppings, with an extracharge based on the number/type you select. Each is served with "jammy" (i.e. runny yolk) eggs. I arrived in the late morningand it was still very busy with several people in line and waiting to pick up orders. I opted for the brioche bun with egg, bacon and orange cheddar. The bun was perfectly toasted and the sauce was quite tasty. I was not a huge fan of the egg, as itwas definitely very runny - grab extra napkins! The bacon was also very crispy, to the point of being crunchy and semi-burnt,so it was not quite to my taste either. Overall, it was a decent breakfast sandwich, which would be excellent with a fewtweaks. It's fairly pricey, however each is cooked to order in the back with fresh ingredients, so I think it's justified. Thestaff were not overly friendly, but the food came out piping hot. It's a very central location, so it's easy to walk to andgrab a bite on the run. Pro tip: While they sell coffee at Iggy's, there's also a great little french Cafe across the street,Canelle, where you can grab an amazing latte and pastry! Read more

Judging by the reviews, I'm going to go ahead and guess that Iggy's was just having a bad day. We arrived a few hours before... the first Lions game of the season. There were a good amount of people gathered around the ordering window. It was busy, but notinsanely busy. We placed an order -- two sandwiches and an order of hashbrowns. Given the crowd, we were quoted with a 20-30minute order time. Annoying, but fine. The sandwiches looked decent in the photos and the reviews here are solid. Fast forwardto an hour and ten minutes later, our name was finally called. When we took the sandwiches out of the bag, one was missing twoof the requested ingredients. Both sandwiches were painfully small and not all that intricate looking. At most, these shouldhave taken 10 minutes to make. It's easy to forgive delays these days with all the staffing issues places are having, but anhour and ten minutes for two breakfast sandwiches that are just slightly bigger than sliders with one that's missing two of thecrucial components really left an awful taste in my mouth. I can safely say there's really no reason to try Iggy's, even ifthey made your sandwich within 3 minutes of ordering. They're fine, but you're not missing anything by going literally anywhereelse. Great for hangovers or a greasy belly bomb for breakfast. The sandwiches are good but definitely heavy. The hashbrowns are super... oily it soaked through the bag. Everything is takeaway. Would recommend calling in the order a head of time or online. Justbecause there is no line doesn?t mean a short wait. Staff is friendly friendly. Great service. Read more

Delicious breakfast sandwiches and hash browns. I've gotten the hard egg, cheddar, and sausage on a brioche bun and a biscuit.... The brioche was great for walking and eating, it held together well: the biscuit is freakin delicious but don't eat it on therun. The biscuit is crumbly, which is natural for a biscuit, but makes it hard to eat as a sandwich. It is still delicious. Thehash browns were absolutely phenomenal. Perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Great staff, too, very nice.Pictured is the biscuit sandwich. Read more

We visited Iggy's to grab some breakfast sandwiches before a visit to the DIA. We called our order in when we were 15 minutes... out, so there was not much of a wait to speak of. Do keep in mind that it is a walk up window only and parking is not plentiful. If you have a driver and a passenger that you can send to the window to pick up your order, that works well. Otherwise you aregoing to have to figure out how to pick up your order. The actual food was very tasty. We got an assortment of breakfastsandwiches some on English muffins, and one on a biscuit. We also got both sausage and bacon sandwiches. The quality of theingredients were very good. The eggs were cooked nicely and we're slightly runny, which is just the way we like them. Thebiscuit was sturdy but not dry, which is the perfect balance for use in a breakfast sandwich. The hash browns were tasty, andwe also got the French toast sticks, which were yummy as well. They initially forgot one of our sandwiches and we had to circleback to get it. They were very apologetic and made a fresh one on the spot quickly. The staff was friendly andaccommodating. The food and service is good, but I'm not sure the breakfast sandwiches are $6 - $7 good... Or at least goodenough that I would regularly pay that much for them. Maybe as an occasional treat, but it would not make a regular breakfastrotation or be considered a must have value at this price point. Read more

wonderful quick breakfast spot! i got the iggycado & my boyfriend got the brioche eggie with sausage and they were both... fantastic. I only have a photo of mine unfortunately but his looked delicious! The sauces on both were wonderful and thecombination of flavors were perfect! Also the service is perfect! Easy to order online and pick up and the woman at the pickupwindow was so kind. Someone mentioned too much for the sandwiches but i think they?re very reasonably priced, i?ve definitelyseen more expensive back home for sandwiches that were not as good and smaller haha. This small, walk-up window shop appears to be well loved in this city based off the number of people waiting outside! The menu... seemed extensive with build-your-own sandwiches, pre-set sandwiches, and burgers. Pros: good egg sandwich, friendlyworkers Cons: a little pricey for what it is The iggycado was good with a good balance of the bitterness of the arugula and thecreamy sauce. However, it wasn?t anything too special. Next time, I?d like to try something else just to give them one more Read more
