Iggy's is a cute, literal "hole in the wall" take-out counter on a side street in Downtown Detroit. While there is no seating at... the restaurant, there are plenty of great seating options at a nice little park just down the block. It felt very safe, withvery nice shops and buildings, and there were lots of people around. They have a fairly standard menu of breakfast sandwichesand other lunch fare. The breakfast sandwich is their specialty - You can choose your bread and sandwich toppings, with an extracharge based on the number/type you select. Each is served with "jammy" (i.e. runny yolk) eggs. I arrived in the late morningand it was still very busy with several people in line and waiting to pick up orders. I opted for the brioche bun with egg, bacon and orange cheddar. The bun was perfectly toasted and the sauce was quite tasty. I was not a huge fan of the egg, as itwas definitely very runny - grab extra napkins! The bacon was also very crispy, to the point of being crunchy and semi-burnt,so it was not quite to my taste either. Overall, it was a decent breakfast sandwich, which would be excellent with a fewtweaks. It's fairly pricey, however each is cooked to order in the back with fresh ingredients, so I think it's justified. Thestaff were not overly friendly, but the food came out piping hot. It's a very central location, so it's easy to walk to andgrab a bite on the run. Pro tip: While they sell coffee at Iggy's, there's also a great little french Cafe across the street,Canelle, where you can grab an amazing latte and pastry! Read more

Judging by the reviews, I'm going to go ahead and guess that Iggy's was just having a bad day. We arrived a few hours before... the first Lions game of the season. There were a good amount of people gathered around the ordering window. It was busy, but notinsanely busy. We placed an order -- two sandwiches and an order of hashbrowns. Given the crowd, we were quoted with a 20-30minute order time. Annoying, but fine. The sandwiches looked decent in the photos and the reviews here are solid. Fast forwardto an hour and ten minutes later, our name was finally called. When we took the sandwiches out of the bag, one was missing twoof the requested ingredients. Both sandwiches were painfully small and not all that intricate looking. At most, these shouldhave taken 10 minutes to make. It's easy to forgive delays these days with all the staffing issues places are having, but anhour and ten minutes for two breakfast sandwiches that are just slightly bigger than sliders with one that's missing two of thecrucial components really left an awful taste in my mouth. I can safely say there's really no reason to try Iggy's, even ifthey made your sandwich within 3 minutes of ordering. They're fine, but you're not missing anything by going literally anywhereelse. Great for hangovers or a greasy belly bomb for breakfast. The sandwiches are good but definitely heavy. The hashbrowns are super... oily it soaked through the bag. Everything is takeaway. Would recommend calling in the order a head of time or online. Justbecause there is no line doesn?t mean a short wait. Staff is friendly friendly. Great service. Read more

We went to Iggy?s yesterday to grab a quick bite for breakfast. Nice small place with limited but good menu. One less star for... slower service. Read more

Delicious breakfast sandwiches and hash browns. I've gotten the hard egg, cheddar, and sausage on a brioche bun and a biscuit.... The brioche was great for walking and eating, it held together well: the biscuit is freakin delicious but don't eat it on therun. The biscuit is crumbly, which is natural for a biscuit, but makes it hard to eat as a sandwich. It is still delicious. Thehash browns were absolutely phenomenal. Perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Great staff, too, very nice.Pictured is the biscuit sandwich. Read more
