While I had a nice room others in my party did not. One had a room with a king bed and no space to even walk around it. Another... had a room with the whole bathroom sink loose and the drain not hooked up properly so the bathroom flooded. A call formaintenance was never answered. The staff is not accommodating and the hotel?s amenities are non existent, not even an icemachine! Supposedly the hotel was full, but you couldn?t get a drink or meal before 5pm. I?m still waiting for my emailedreceipt Read more
The St. Regis Detroit hotel is trash. We booked a room with a King bed over 2 months ago and we?re given a room with two double... beds. When asked to change rooms we were told the only option was a room that was smoked in the night before. The front deskemployee was rude and not at all accommodating. The room itself was definitely not remodeled like the pictures on the websitesuggest. The microwave was placed unsafely on top of the refrigerator which was on top of the counter. The glass plate nearlyhit my face when I took something out of it and shattered on the ground. It was also disgustingly dirty. The bathtub drain wasrusted and corroded. The sink did not have a plug in the drain. We found a used Vaseline container on the floor. The TV picturequality looked like it was from 25 years ago. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone based on our horrible experience. Read more
Do not stay here! I repeat?do not stay here! It is a trap!! Where do I begin?? Our experience was horrible and the pictures on... the website are definitely misleading. We definitely should have heeded the one star reviews. We arrived early for our Fridaycheck in and were told there were no rooms available. They did not offer to take a phone number to inform us as to when a roomwould be available. We left and walked around some and came back within an hour. We were given a handicapped access room whichwe didn?t complain about as we?d read that the bathrooms were small in the standard rooms. We went upstairs to our room. Onlyone elevator was operable the entire stay. The hallways have definitely been renovated as it states on the website. However thatis where the renovations stop. The rooms are terribly outdated and contain pine furniture, which reminds you of a funeral home. The room was sparse with very little comfort to offer. Additionally, our remote would not control the volume of the tv.Maintenance did bring us another remote. The air conditioning was extremely loud but it was cold. The water was barely hotenough for two people to take a shower. We were given one hand towel the entire stay. There is no phone in the room. Picturesboast of a micro fridge and a microwave. There was only a microwave. The bed was comfortable enough. On our final night(Sunday), the hotel hosts an evening party which we were not made aware of. It was loud and people were being patted down at thedoor. It would have been nice to know this prior to check in as we definitely would not have stayed. When we checked out, thereceptionist held our luggage for us but did not place it in a secured area. Overall the stay was complete and utter trash ????.If it were not for family and other activities, this trip would have been a bust. Even our family told us we should?ve stayedwith them before allowing ourselves to stay in this dump. The outside of the building holds so much promise of Read more
Don?t stay here! 3 issues also mentioned in prior reviews? it appears owners and managers will not be fixing the issues: 1. AC... doesn?t cool reads at 68 the lowest setting but we slept without a sheet and in T-shirt and shorts. Hot and muggy. Told bymanagement we could open the hotel windows ?. 2. All water is warm/hot including the toilet. No cool or cold water possible outof any faucet 3. No ice on any floor. Have to ask at front desk and they have to get it from back of house Desk reception waskind though and brought us more towels when only 2 were in our room set for 4 upon arrival. Also only 1 pillow per person Read more

I'd listen to the 1-2 star reviews and avoid this hotel if at all possible. We stayed here due to it being the only hotel... available in short notice (for obvious reasons). Our room, which was over $200 for one night, had no overhead lights. We had touse our phone flashlights to find the lamps to turn on. Our bathroom was missing the knob on the inside, locking someone in mygroup in the bathroom until I was able to let him out. The elevators broke down, forcing us to use the employee elevators. Theroom was incredibly dirty, other than the bed. The floors were a dirty, dusty laminate type material that made me feel like theonly clean spot in the room was staying in bed. They have advertising for valet, but no workers present as well. I'm nevercoming back - I'm never recommending this to anyone. It's only getting 2 stars because the bed was clean enough to sleep in.
