Reviews for COOP Caribbean Fusion in Detroit, MI
This place is located in the Detroit Shipping Company. I'm certainly glad that with all of the food options, I chose to eat at... this place. I ordered the chicken wings and they were great. They were everything that you could ask for. They had a goodCaribbean taste and were soft but not fatty with kind of a grilled flavor to them. There were also smothered in sauce withlittle mandarin oranges. Overall, while the place is a little pricey, it is well worth it. Read more

Can't wait to eat this food! The owner, when I spoke to her, was so considerate and kind, especially because I couldn't figure... out how to order online. This is a great establishment! Update 7/17/22: PLEASE UPDATE THE PHONE NUMBER. We had a HUGE order weplanned on placing (at least $200 worth) and the number does not work! It's been like this for a while. The food is excellent, but you will lose customers by not updating. Online ordering is not always the best option, especially for older users. Read more
I had no idea of what I was about to experience...the flavors of the Carribean was phenomenal! I can't began to describe all... those flavors that were going on in my mouth! The corn was the best! The chicken stayed crispy even with the cold slaw! Frieshad a sauce that didnt require me to use ketchup. I even ate the Cauliflower! An experience i dont want you to miss! The"Coop" means shared space and that is because it shares space with at least 4 other small venues. There is an upstairs thatserves/sales coffee. There is plenty of seating inside and out. There is a full bar inside. Eating inside a shipping containerwas kinda cool. Thanks for inviting me Chef Max! Read more
I tried here with the understanding that this is a Caribbean fusion place, not authentic Caribbean restaurant (I like trying... Caribbean fusion). However, most of the dishes offered include elements that aren?t used in Caribbean cooking (old bayseasoning, fresco cheese, mandarin oranges??) The chicken sandwich lacks flavor, if I could give it 0 stars, I would. The breadwas soggy, the tenders had zero seasoning. An absolute ridiculous price for a bad sandwich! The plantain wasn?t sweet, nearlyspoiled on the inside but fried golden brown on the outside. If you?re looking for something Caribbean inspired, lookelsewhere. Read more
Absolutely love this place. It is so much fun! All of their food has that caribbean flair and the inclusion of fruit is... meaningfully brilliant! (Their one chicken sandwich has a bbq sauce infused with guava!!!! Sooooo freaking good and a plus isthat they give you not 1 but 2 pieces of chicken!) Their mac and cheese is unique and has lots of textures! Definitely a musttry! Read more
Such an amazing food experience! The fried chicken tenders are out of this world. They were busy on a Saturday evening, but... promptly got through the orders. The food has a lot of flavor. I really enjoyed the sauce, too. It?s like a mix between buffaloand traditional jerk sauce. Our group snagged a table outside and it was overall a great experience. Read more
The cashier who looked like mighty joe young was inconsiderate and rude for absolutely no reason. I felt like the food there... could?ve been better but my meal was rushed and made sloppily. The cook did have good food handling techniques, which is theonly good thing I can say about this place. Read more
