Our go-to place for breakfast (and sometimes lunch). Everyone is so pleasant and sweet here. We always buy our bread at Avalon -... Motown Multigrain and Farnsworth ftw. Wow - I didn't know what to expect when coming here. From the outside, it looks like an old school bakery. From the inside, it's... a hip cafe/restaurant with funky decor. It was packed on a Sunday at brunch time. Unfortunately, we weren't very hungry, but weordered some fancy lattes. I ordered one that was themed for St. Patrick's Day. It looks like a cool spot, and it's been in theneighborhood for a while. Just don't let the outside fool you. Read more
Absolutely love the original Avalon Bakery. It is everything I could ask for in a local patisserie and more. Pastries are always... fresh, high quality, and absolutely delicious. Espresso bar is a huge plus, and I adore the additional pantry and kitchen itemsthey sell. Bonus points for the lovely chalkboard menu art and seasonal decor within the bake shop. Avalon has delicious pastries (chocolate croissant is divine), good coffee and savory treats (get the avocado toast!) for... breakfast. Also enjoyed their simple but well-made Turkey sandwich for lunch. The savory focaccia was big enough to share! Thebread is top notch and the customer service is too!
