Vegetarians: this review is for you. Today for your viewing pleasure we have the BBQ bacon cheddar black bean burger sans bacon... with swiss cheese instead of cheddar. Accompanying the burger are smash tots. This was my first time ever eating at smashburger. I travel year round and am always eager to find another good burger place. The manager(?) in the NY hat cared about ourexperience and wanted to make sure we enjoyed our food. Always refreshing to encounter someone who cares about their customersbecause that usually shows in the goods and services they offer. I ordered the burger without bacon because it wasn'tvegetarian/vegan, unfortunately, but maybe one day they will offer it. The burger itself tasted good, but the texture wasdifferent from any black bean burger I have ever had. Typically, a black bean burger is a mixture of several ingredients, but Ithink this patty is literally just beans. The taste is fine, but the texture of it was different. Almost like....doughy. I can'tthink of another way to word it. This is something you will have to try for yourself and decide if you like it. The smash totswere good. They use rosemary, garlic, and olive oil to season them, I believe. The strongest flavor being the rosemary, not thegarlic. They tried to Lock the doors an hour before they even closed. 4 of us got Milkshakes and none of them had any toppings? asked... twice like ?hey it shows all this stuff but our milkshakes don?t seem to have anything.. they assured us it was blended but bythe time we all finished we didn?t get a single topping .. extremely dissatisfied.. not sure if the staff was just being lazy orwhat but it?s really frustrating having your heart set on something , checking in being lied to and left unfulfilled. This place was remarkable. The staff members were very professional and friendly. The young lady that took my order was very... helpful in helping me choose what to order. I ordered the haystack burger with tots and a milkshake. Everything was DELICIOUS! Iappreciated the time that was put into making the food. I highly recommend this place. Will definitely return ! Owner and staff of this location is awesome and accommodating. My brother and cousin have started a Keto Diet together and the... owner of this specific location (David) was very understanding, genuine, and sincere with helping us decide healthy choices forour road to a healthy lifestyle. Just to give a brief history for all three of us, pre-diabetic, diabetic, and hypertensive. One of us, was on the verge of dying but we did not want to sacrifice what we love to eat , Burgers... This is our second timehere and the first visit was turkey burgers. We can all say and agree, thst he and his staff take pride in their work. Foodwas quality is top notch and flavor was awesome. They are all definitely caring for the needs of those they serve, so be nice tothis staff. There is not many of them behind the scenes but from the looks of it, the people that work here all seem like apretty tight niche work family and very service oriented.
